Sushi...

There's a Godzilla Roll at Sushi Wabi here in Chicago that is ridiculous and huge. They don't even put it on the menu. Shrimp tempura, wasabi and a bunch of other stuff. I don't try and determine what the heck is in it. I just eat it.

I love Shrimp tempura sushi. I go to the Sushi Inn in Lombard. Hoe, the Sushi chef there, makes a scallop sushi that is my personal favorite.

I can't stand sake. I prefer either an Asahi or a light, sweet white wine. I often buy Pacific Rim Dry Riesling - pretty inexpensive at $8 to $10 or so and great w/just about any asian cuisine.

Asahi is Ichiban! (#1) Love that stuff, along with a tall Hot Sake! :D

Lombard sounds familiar..

It's about 20 mile west of Chicago. I lived there all my life unit recently. I now live in Bristol, about 50 miles sw of Chicago and there is NO Sushi bars nearby

Triple Rolls are amazing. What is the one with the sweet yellow rectangle on it? Those things rule the school.

I'm addicted to Sushi, I would spend $$ if i ever go in a sushi bar, i love all of them. My wife has banned me from going to one but every now and then i get the urge..

oh and sashimi is best when you just want the pure flavour Mmmm damn you for this thread, I feel a relapse coming.

chef and I make it as much as we can but we eat it atleast once a week from a shushi join about an hour away.love it.only time i can say im satified with such small portions.

I love sushi... I'll eat just about anything sushi wise.

Sushi is amazing. I love it.

Then again, half the time its just a fancy verson of what I eat every day, since we live on rice, fish and kelp at the moment anyway.

I haven't had sushi in a while, but I loved it.

Except for California rolls. Those sucked. When I go to a Japanese restaurant, I'd like the waitress to speak some English, but I want only Japanese cuisine. No goddamn American Japanese ****.

At least it's not stale bread and grissle :woot: I'll be visiting The Sushi Inn next Thursday. My birstday. And I'm going to pig out one some Super White, Toro, yellowtail Sashimi style of corse and Hot Sake!

That's just wrong Jag. Did you watch House last night? Ewwwwwwwww

Would you like pictures of the other parasites that you can contract from sushi? They're not nearly as handsome as Mr. Tapeworm, I'm afraid.

Haven't ever watched "House", I'm afraid, though. :o

The Japanese must have guts FULL of worms.

Surprisingly, not as much as you would think, because they really know how to prepare their sushi. It's very hit or miss here in the states, so the likelihood greatly increases.

Can being the operative. Yes if you go to a bad Sushi house you can end up with said yucky things.

Last night on House he pulled a Tape Worm out of a girl. WOW was that gross

So, the fish isn't the problem, it's how it is prepared. You could contract E. coli from a steak house, it doesn't mean you will.

Vincent: "Tape worm tastes gooood."

Jag: "Tape worm might tastes like pumpkin pie; but I'd never know, 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy ****er."

The key is where and when does the sushi chef get his fish. Day old sushi is not a real good thing unless stored properly. Even then, certain types of sushi go stay well. It has to be fresh, purchased that morning. Getting sushi from a grocery store is putting you stomach at risk. Hoe, the sushi chef at the Sushi Inn purchases his every morning. I've eaten there for years and have never gotten ill.

I ate sushi a couple of times, and it was... alright, I guess. Surprisingly enough, Calgary isn't known for its top-notch seafood

I just couldn't get over the fact that I was eating raw fish :p
