I bought a DVD for a dollar because it starred Peter Stormare. It is called COMMANDER HAMILTON. It was a decent action/thriller starring Stormare as Swedish spy Carl Hamilton. It costarred Lena Olin and Mark Hamill. The plot involves Swedish intelligence, the CIA, KGB, and smuggling nuclear missiles through Sweden. This was originally a 3 hour miniseries that was edited into a 2 hour movie.

As I looked it up on IMDB, I found that the character is from a series of 13 novels that have been turned into 11 movies or TV miniseries. Other actors that have played Hamilton are Stellan Skarsgård, Peter Haber, Stefan Sauk, and Mikael Persbrandt.

I was wondering if anyone here had seen any of these and what they thought about them.

I saw the very first movie, with Stellan Skarsgård when it came 1988 or something like that. I don't remember much from it. But as far as I remember I thought it was an okay movie back then. But perhaps it was mostly enjoyable for the simple reason it wasn't exaclty common for Sweden to make this kind of movie back then. I also saw Mikael Persbrandt's first Hamilton-movie a few years ago. It was an okay movie.

I was surprised when I saw that Stellan Skarsgård had played the character. After seeing him play primarily as Selvig in the MCU I don't picture him as a Bond type. As for Mikael Persbrandt.....I have seen him in the HOBBIT movies and the Mads Mikkelsen western THE SALVATION...and he I can see as a super spy.
