Yeah the director will be interesting. Sydney isn’t exactly a great dramatic actress so wondering if they embrace some of the campiness. Trying to do a serious route is going to cause some unsolicited laughsThis is probably going to be about 60-70% less porno-y than the original and all the alt-right YouTubers are going to be in their feelings about it.

Anyone saying Sweeney can't act is dead wrong, but trying to make a gritty, revisionist reboot of this would be ridiculous. This needs to be high camp and play into the absurdity of the original. The director/writer choice will be key - you have to find someone with great comic vision whose idea of feminism doesn't start and end with "chaste woman does violence." I'd put Clea Duvall first in line. This is probably going to be about 60-70% less porno-y than the original and all the alt-right YouTubers are going to be in their feelings about it.

That's if they even know what the original Barbarella is since something tells me the alt-right crowd aren't Jane Fonda fans. This is probably going to be about 60-70% less porno-y than the original and all the alt-right YouTubers are going to be in their feelings about it.
Who’s NWR?NWR was at some point attached to his version of Barbarella. My mind goes hnnnngh with the idea of that film, but I doubt they go that way at all. I did rewatch bits of 'Ready or Not'. That duo of Directors would be pretty damn good for this.
