Syfy Picks Up To Series ‘Deadly Class’ Drama Based On Graphic Novel From The Russo Brothers
Adapted for television by Remender and Miles Orion Feldsott, Deadly Class is described as a coming of age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst. Set in a dark, comic book world against the backdrop of late 80s counter culture, it follows a homeless teen recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital.

Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval star.

Remender and Feldsott executive produce with Joe Russo, Anthony Russo and Mike Larocca (Spy). Adam Targum (Banshee) from Chipmunk Hill also served as executive producer on the pilot, along with Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline), who also directed.

Looks good. Syfy will no doubt randomly cancel it.

I think I read the first issue for this a few years ago. This looks cool.

Syfy made the pilot available on youtube and on demand.

Pretty good. Has its hooks into me. Will probably watch it again.

Yep, just finished watching it, and I already want to see more, love the soundtrack for it.

Same. It's nice to see how close it sticks to the source material.

Love the pilot.

Man, I've had a huge crush on Erica Cerra (the Hand-to-Hand Combat instructor Miss DeLuca) since the Eureka days.

Syfy made the pilot available for free on YouTube and I was really impressed with it despite not being familiar with the source material. I will definitely be checking out the rest of this series.

Now, I know nothing of source material, but to me it looks like a HP / Kingsman rip off but did this get here first ?

The actor who plays Marcus reminds me a bit of Dylan O'Brien.

Ok, but it’s still great and entertaining and different. I don’t know where HP comes in though.

Any boarding school type story is going to be compared to Harry Potter now.

Not sure where the Kingsman comparison comes from.

Because they kill people. As for the Harry Potter one, it’s such a stretch. Being at a boarding school does not make it close to a Harry Potter rip-off. There’s no magic involved so, let’s drop that.

Just finished the first episode and I thought it was great. So I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.
