Sylar and Bugs

Has anyone else noticed that several times during the series, we see Sylar and some sort of bug (typically, IIRC, a cockroach).

We see it when Mr Bennett is holding him. We seem him (presumably) heavily sedated with an insect in his cell.

Later, in season 2, when he kills the kid he helped escape from jail (I forget the kid's name, he was the one with the car), we see the kid's body, and the brick... and a cockroach.

Thoughts?

i see it as a metaphor for survival. it is said that the after everything is dead and gone cockroaches with be one of if not the only main species around. They also say that roaches can even survive nuclear holocausts and such. I see it as them saying that not matter what Sylar can press on and survive and come back from almost anything. I mean the guy was stabbed damn near through the heart with a sword and still survived. Thats my view on it

It's been confirmed by the producers that the cockroaches are not a power or anything, just a theme / symbol for Sylar.

Maybe he's the pied piper and of roaches. it's like a secret power. :P

it's kinda sad in a way, because they are going to keep using him over and over and over.

his obssesion for claire is pretty poor, he should continue his quest to get everyone else.

they should also put a limt on how many powers he carry at one go. i say three max.

You think they'll ever truly show, or at least explain, what Sylar does with people's brains?

Yep, they said they'll show that in one of the first episodes of season 3. I think that as long as Peter absorbs more powers, Sylar will acquire them too. I understand his obsession with Claire. A healing factor is an amazing power. He'd be damn near unstoppable.

i know in the first episode Sylar will say what he doesn't do with the brains.

I'd say he should go after Adam instead.
