But theirs a new relationship dynamic that could work.

Im not all that excited for Li anyway, but Statham and Stallone match up is still awesome.

War (2007) was God awful... Jet Li can't act in Western films I'm sorry... he may be badass but his performaces are brutal and borderline atrocious... if he is just some bad ass villain/special forces guy then fine. He had zero chemistry with Statham in War... The One couldn't even pass as a cartoon IMO... the only thing this project has going for it is Stallone, who I have faith in don't get me wrong... but the idea of these three guys meshing with one another... because they are bad asses in their own films... doesn't mean this film will be triple badass just by throwing as many names as you can in what probably will amount to be an hour and a half length film.

War was awful because of the script. All Jet Li has to do is point, shoot and do a few roundhouse kicks.

If you think Jason Statham and Forrest Whitaker aren't soemthing this movie has going for it, you clearly don't watch many movies. Stallone pretty much already showed us what he can do with a group of mercinaries. If anything he'll be more comfortable now that he wont be carrying the film himself and he's got two other guys to share the load, so this will probably be longer than Rambo.

Lastly, why do you need three full stops?

Whitaker is in this? Because I don't recall reading that in the report... I just hope Jet Li doesn't have to give an actual performance because I can't take him seriously with that voice... Statham is an average actor. I like his British heist films but he is overexposed with his cliche action flicks... I fear two things... 1) the movie takes itself too seriously and the performances/execution is awful... 2) the movie is 100% action/cheeze... but then it's wasted talent. You want more than that. But seriously... when was the last time any three of these guys did a great movie??? I honestly can't recall.

Dolph Lundgren is Expendable
Source: Review Nation
November 25, 2008

In an interview with Review Nation on the red carpet of Transporter 3, Sylvester Stallone revealed that he's lining up Dolph Lundgren to co-star in his next film, The Expendables. Lundgren starred in Stallone's fourth installment of the "Rocky" series in 1985.

Sylvester Stallone will star in, write and direct the action film, also starring Jason Statham and Jet Li. The movie follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.

You can watch the red carpet interview using the player below!

This would be a change for Dolph considering it won't be DTV :cwink:

This movie officially has to much testosterone, and I like it.

Next up we'll hear that Tom Jane, Ray Liotta, Daniel Craig, and Hugh Jackman are all lined up to.

seriously, this movie is going to be awesome,

especially if they can put Statham, Jet Li, Dolph and Sly all together in some fight scenes or battle scenes!

and while Sly is at it, he might as well round it off with Van Damme and Snipes!

that would really bring in the box office numbers!
and if it was rated R, it would totally kill the box office.

all of the best action stars in one movie?!

Can it be done? maybe Sly is going to do it!

I remember how Quentin Tarantino's new movie was supposed to have a full line of action stars like Sly.

But it looks like Sly has to do it himself!

Oh yeah, it will be weird seing Dolph on the big screen, its been what 20 years hasn't it?!

:woot:

Ok, i'm sold on this film. This cast freaking rocks. The only possible way it could get any cooler is if Arnold jumped into a role too. :)

He should be the guy who brings them together, and they should give him an eyepatch and his cigar like Nick Fury almost.
I demand JCVD somehow show up in this!

Best Movie of the Year when it comes out, I already predicted it.

Dolph Lundgren in a new movie?? With Sly Stalone?? I'm there!!

Didn't JCVD agree to another Universal Soldier? I wouldn't call that a new career path.

Dammit you waited too long Sly. :waa:

ewww to that last photo lol

JCVD and Seagal on board would have made this badass....like /film mentioned "what Inglorious Bastards should've been."

I was just looking through Seagal's IMDB page....some of his characters names in films are hilarious...Frank Glass, Jonathan Cold(twice), Rolland Sallinger. Only thing funnier are the titles: Clementine, Today you Die, Pistol Whipped, and Mercenary for Justice.

Race ya.............

With Lundgren on board, this has just added a new dimension of awesomeness.

Shame Jean Claude declined - you'd think he'd have a bit more sense than that; perhaps the critical acclaim for JCVD has gotten to his head and now he's too good for this *****??

Mmmm, considering the tale that Stallone tells of JCVD going nuts at one of his parties once and challenging Seagal to a fight - maybe there's still some bad blood between those two.

This would have been much better for his career than Universal Soldier 3 (or whatever, it would be JCVDs third but not the third US i think)

JCVD has always been an ego maniac, I hope the praise from JCVD which looks really good hasnt already gone to his head.
