Taken Director Morel Sets Up New Thriller

Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has acquired an untitled Tokyo-set thriller that will be developed as a directing vehicle for Pierre Morel (Taken).

The story follows a CIA operative, stationed in Japan but on the verge of retirement, who is ordered to carry out a final mission. He finds himself caught in the middle of an international conspiracy.

Frank Baldwin is writing the script, and Alli Shearmur will produce.

Interesting. It is too bad this is Paramount and not Fox. Throw in Liam Neeson, rework the script a little bit and you have a pretty cool sounding prequel to Taken on your hands.

I just really want to see Brian again.
