Vendome Pictures has entered into an agreement with Anonymous Content to produce Bastille Day, written by Andrew Baldwin. Anonymous Content developed the project with Baldwin, bringing it to Vendome who preemptively acquired the material on spec before it became available to all buyers. Pierre Morel will direct the feature film.

Vendome Pictures CEO Philippe Rousselet will produce the project along with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros, and David Kanter. Vendome will fully finance the production of the film.

Bastille Day is an original idea about a young American artist living in Paris and a washed up CIA agent who together are tasked with diverting an imminent attack on the city.

Baldwin's recent credits include The Outsider, his 2nd screenplay to land on the Black List, which is in pre-production at Warner Bros., with Daniel Espinosa attached to direct; and he is writing Logan's Run for Warner Bros. that has Nicolas Winding Refn attached to direct and Ryan Gosling to star.

France's Pierre Morel is best known as the director of the blockbuster Taken, starring Liam Neeson. His other credits include District B13 and From Paris With Love, starring John Travolta.

Vendome’s President of Production, Guy Stodel, and Vice President of Production and Development, Sarah Schweitzman, will oversee the project on behalf of Vendome.

That's literally the exact plot of From Paris with Love. Youngster teams with old CIA agent to prevent an attack on Paris.

And it's from the same..frgging..director.

A little strange to see a bunch British actors playing Americans in France.

I thought this was a EuropaCorp movie as it is by the director of Taken. The film has a similar vibe to their action franchise movies (Transporter series, Taken series, Taxi series and District 13).

Idris Elba looks like a good action lead but the film seems a little derivative.

Looks good. Nothing particularly original, but good nonetheless.

Looks like fun to me, too.
It need a US. release date though.

It looks ok, Elba is cool and it will be fun to see him in action role, especially with the 80's overtones.

You had me at Stringer Bell and Robb Stark. Looks like a blast.
