I just saw this episode yesterday of Batman TAS and the 2nd half was done like Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. It focused on Batman fighing the Mutants, and the battle with the leader.
Frankly I'm amazed no one tried to animate that story between then and now. It was pared down for the 5 minutes it ran, but I would love to see all 4 chapters done.
