I don't think I see her character thread anywhere on the forum. Seems belated to start the thread now so close to the release date. However, she is too gorgeous to not have a thread of her own!

I'd fully expect her to be in more films... She was one of the strongest parts of the movie. I absolutely adored her. She brought the character to life perfectly.

That's great to hear. I can't wait to see her on the big screen. Heard her chemistry with Hugh Jackman was great as well.

She was brilliant in the role, could have been flat and one dimensional, but her and Hugh had actual chemistry.

Stunning woman for sure!...

A bit too skinny for my taste, but that's personal prefference..hehe

Can't wait to see her as the infamous Mariko Yashida in a couple of days!

I'm definitely very hyped to see Mariko's role in this movie, especially since she has been downplayed in the trailers. Hard to believe that this is her first movie, because she definitely doesn't look like an amateur.

Again... 1st role for her, too? Jesus Christ, where does Mangold find them? Loved her, one of the best love interests in CBMs.

My favorite love interest in a superhero movie so far.

1. MARIKO-LOGAN THE WOLVERINE
2. PEGGY-STEVE CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
3. PETER-GWEN THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
4. TONY-PEPPER IRON MAN

I would go along with that list I think.

Her chemistry with Huge Jackman was really impressive especially for someone with little acting experience. I can say the same thing with Rila. To be real, I thought both of their performances would be cringe worthy and I was afraid of the dreaded Engrish jokes from the audience, but I am glad I was dead wrong. Their English was fine and was near fluent.

I really enjoyed Tao's role as Mariko. The entire time i was really thinking, she seems like the only other person Logan could fall for other than Grey and ... there is a little Daken growing his ugly mohawk hair in her belly. -_-

I loved her in the movie. She and Hugh had great chemistry and she was surprisingly awesome and complex. Was this really his first movie role, damn?

...From Stan Lee's World of Heroes a couple of months ago. Thought I'd bring it up again with so many people looking!

Yup!

But she is very successful as a model, and as a model, sometimes you have to act and makes faces when the photographer is taking a picture of you.

Maybe like Zhang Siyi of CTHD, she could make more Hollywood movies in the future.

I didn't even know that was her first role? Damn, she really did come and bring it with this one then. i like how she isn't just some type of....weak willed woman. She can fight, she has her own skills, and didn't need to be a victim to just be saved by Logan.

The women in this were exceptional. Strong female heroines that don't just wait around for the guy to save them. Not the norm for superhero movie fare.
