In development for quite some time, Killing on Carnival Row looks like it may finally be close to the big screen as Deadline reports that Immortals director Tarsem Singh is now attached to helm.

The film, from a spec script by Travis Beacham, is about about a Victorian city inhabited by humans, faeries, elves and vampires, and a detective pursuing a serial killer within.

Singh's next project, Mirror Mirror, hits theaters on March 16, 2012 and re-interprets the classic tale of Snow White. He's expected to begin production on Carnival Row in June in New Orleans.

based on the concept and his style, color me excited.

Interesting premise and the material suits him.

I'm glad that his career is starting to take off with Immortals. mirror, mirror not withstanding (which I'm still reserving judgment for), I really enjoy the work he does.

Will it have a story this time?

Goddammit, I came up with an idea similar to this years ago. Oh, well, I'm still going to do it.

Singh seems to be making up for lost time lately, hopping from one project to the next.

lmao at your sig rowsdower. that man deserved a medal or something. Tarsem just needs to find a screenwriter to work with. Neil Gaiman should write another script lol his writing + Tarsem's visuals would be orgasmic.

Haha, thanks. Yeah, the Drive Hot Dog Bandit is truly an interesting guy.

Yeah, Tarsem really, REALLY needs a good screenwriter to work with. I liked Immortals but there were so many flaws in the story that it makes me question Tarsem's ability that he didn't notice them. And Mirror Mirror just looks... bad.
