So what's the deal?? I haven't heard any news on David Yates Tarzan.. I know it started and finished filming , I know it's set to be released in 2016. I haven't heard any other news ... No set pictures, no images of the new Tarzan. Is it been kept that tightly under wraps? I'm pretty stoked to see a new Tarzan on the big screen

Yeah, I'd forgotten about this... when's it supposed to come out?

Was not even aware that they was a new one in the works. My favorite Tarzans? The Elmo Lincoln one and surprisingly one I rarely hear talked about, the Lambert "Legend of Greystoke". That was doing the gritty re-boot thing 30 years ago.

July 2016 is what I read. It has a pretty impressive cast and is supposed to be a real action adventure movie. I've managed to find like two set pictures of Margot Robbie as Jane and that's it.

Is this being done with lots and lots of green screen or something?

I have no Idea . The set picture looked to be done on location , seems to be true to the source and not "modern day". More of a period piece . I know Alexander Skarsgard is Tarzan , Margot Robbie is Jane, Sam Jackson is in it as well as Christopher Waltz. Pretty good casting , David Yates is a good director. I think it will be legit.... Just curious at to why it seems to be so closely under wraps. Then again Tarzan doesn't have the same following as say the Avengers, which is a shame because I grew up loving Tarzan.

I posted a few pix last year but I'm too lazy to find them. They were of Margot Robbie (with red hair) on a boat in a river with her Brit soldiers.

That's the ones I saw. Jus curious as to why there haven't been other set pics . Find it odd no images of Skarsgard as Tarzan has surfaced

Probably filmed primarily on soundstages.

Tarzan swinging through the jungle was filmed with greenscreen. small stunts on location. IMO

hollywood wants faster and bigger action scenes. so expect tarzan to jump through the jungle exactly like spiderman.

I think/hope they'll have slightly more restraint than that.

I'd say up until a few years ago, Tarzan had much better brand "awareness" than Avengers.

Ok, I've never been interested in Tarzan's movies, but Margot's in this so I might check it out.

Dear lord, so Tarzan is going to be taught how to speak English by Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Walz? That should be a movie in and of itself.

Really? I've always loved Tarzan . Been a fan most of my life with Greystoke :legend of Tarzan being my favorite. I've seen most adaptions , Greystoke, the old Black and whites, the Casper Van Dien movie, Disneys Tarzan, the TV shows, just about all. I don't think Tarzan has even been a household name since Disneys version . If it has I have some catching up to do. Oh I forgot the animated one last year ... It wasn't bad but not great

Keep in mind that this Tarzan is coming back to the jungle, after spending a few years with Jane in high society. So his English should be perfect.

Really hope this is good. We really need a good live-action modern Tarzan movie IMO.

Yes we do and one that respects the source material as well. I think the last live action Tarzan was Tarzan and the lost city.... Maybe the Tarzan show on the WB. Can't remember which one came first. I do always feel like they never really cast the right person as Tarzan . Skarsgard is a pretty good actor and may own the role, he is just so blonde lol. It may be just the fact that I'm so used to the Tarzan art work showing him looking different than any movie has ever portrayed him. Christopher Lambert was probably my favorite live action version and even he wasn't really how he is described in the books . I'm really looking forward to the film though and can't wait to start seeing some pictures and trailers surface. Seeing as how it has a July 2016 release though we are still a ways away from anything

I think most people have always known of Tarzan, at least. I feel like my whole life, even if people haven't seen a Tarzan movie or read a book, they at least have some crude knowledge of his iconic yell, he's a guy in the jungle, and "me Tarzan, you Jane."

I will gladly pay to see Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Clayton, Lord Greystoke on the screen - NOT Cheetah, Boy, "Umgawa," or "Me Tarzan, you Jane." Stick to the source material because IT is extremely rich!

Absolutely, I think everyone has at least an idea of the basics of Tarzan . Just saying I don't think his popularity has been what it was at one point. Probably not since Disneys Tarzan

Christopher Lambert is the one and only Tarzan. :D

Greystoke is probably my favorite Tarzan film .... I have a soft spot for Disneys as well. The animated Tarzan from this past year with Kellen Lutz wasn't bad for a modern interpretation, not as bad as it was made out to be anyways. I'd really like this new Tarzan to perform really well and maybe WB will be inclined to give John Carter a chance since Disney let the rights go back . I though it was a really great movie and really good sci-fi. Cost a little to much to make and poor marketing .... Just killed it. Half the time during previews and trailers the general audience had no idea what the film was supposed to be about.
