The Amazing Spider-Man TASM Footage Description Thread!

Hey, I asked him because he was the only one I could see who was giving it up. Your post was there when my post went through. So thanks for answering :)

That sounds great. I am completely buzzing about this. Thanks, mate.

No problem man glad to help. You won't b disappointed. The humor is right the tone is perfect and the lizard is huge. I just got on the bus to get back home and I'm still excited about what I saw. Now obviously he's n the minority but my boy, who is a huge batman fan, is more excited about this than dark knight rises at this point and he was completely won over by the trailer

Oh and all this supposed non interest in the movie? Didn't see it. There were so many people at the one in NYC, they were doing two screenings possibly 3

Did you see the bathroom scene?

Yes bits and pieces of it.... No gurls with the tounge thou!!!

And he moves much faster and more like someone would!!! By far the best Spider-Man put on film yet!!

Any kind of visual style for Spidey sense? Slow-mo? Different lighting? Also, any insight on his lenses? We've seen them yellow, reflective, transparent....

Where's the descriptions?! "It was awesome!" isn't enough!!!! :(

Can anyone give an examples of some of the humor (if they can remember)?

There was the scene with the car thief with spidey insulting him, some nice banter between he and Gwen: he shows up at her window she asks how'd he get there he says fire escape. She says this is the 30th floor he says "your doorman is really intimidating" also some nice Peter wit while taking a beating from flash

They didn't show an effect for the spidey sense but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist but the scene they showed was real time. Meaning u see him dodge bullets in real time which was incredible to see. Slowing it down doesn't show u how fast the kid really is

How did the suit look on screen and in motion? Black crotch confirmed to be gone?

Wasn't shown.

Nope. But there's a lot of twisting and contorting. Andrew is like a sly snake in the way he moves about with liberation.

Different lighting?
Grittier. It just feels like a breathing city, as opposed to the bright and idealized version in Raimi's films. There's grime when there needs to be.

Also, any insight on his lenses? We've seen them yellow, reflective, transparent....
It's most definitely yellow. There's slight reflection. But it's unmistakably a deep yellow present. It was borderline bright amber.

I will no doubt catch flake from Tobey fans, but in the few seconds I've seen of Andrew under the suit, he's already coming off like the far superior (and faithful) Spidey. The wisecracks, the confidence, the teenaged sensibility -- it's all right out of the books.

Suit looked great n motion. The colors with the palette of the city just works really well. No black crotch to speak of but then again I wasn't looking lol. It really blew me away tho all joking aside. It looks like Marc Webb hit it out the park

Its a very dark film maily cuz spidey is at night! And for the lenses they are yellow not white! They look awesome... Althou they may have just looked yellow cuz the darkness and lights off the buildings....

He moves so muh faster an smoother than tobey... Hes PERFECT!!!! But i can tell you one thing he looks awesome on screen.... Im at dinner now and will be home later and write up a full review of what i remember.....

One last thing... YOU MUST GO SEE IT IN 3D... It was filmed dor 3D and you are actually swinging with spidey!!! Sick!

Yeah I agree the 3D was extremely dope. Very good and will really work with the swinging scenes. They didn't show another pov shot but just looking at him swinging in 3D and even with the camera moving behind him through canyons just works

How was the CG? I'm not a fan of Sony Imageworks but how did it look?

BDS, how does Spidey move? Is it similar to what we've seen before? Quicker? Slower? More lifelike?
In the Raimi movies, Spidey was highly graceful and agile, almost animalistic - like you're watching some sort of a panther doing a ballet.

Here he's not so animalistic but more like an extremely confident human, with insanely fast lightening quick movements; he casually dodges two bullets shot at him - from a point blank range. It's hard to explain exactly why, but the less animalistic movements makes it all seem so much more authentic. It looks like his tendons and muscles are made of dense and highly elastic rubber. Everything that Spidey did in the original trilogy looked like it took effort, whereas here he moves with a level of ease and comfort as though it's the most natural thing in the world to him.

When you watch Spidey swing through the city... very nice!

The costume also looked beautiful on the screen.

The camera moves blazingly fast, but simultaneously it adds a layer of artificiality on top of computer-ridden sequences that's already present. I don't know if it totally works for me yet. I can understand the concept behind it, and with refinement it could be a total crowd pleaser. As is (which is still in development), I was more reminded of a high-tech demo for a next generation video game.

There's no visual indication of the spider-sense?

How do you know he's using it?

As far as the footage shown in Los Angeles it was definately exciting, they showed the trailer coming out this week as well some extras that still needs editing.

CG looked good so far. It looks good for a film that still has months of post production so it can only get better. The lizard is huge and his CG looked good and the spidey CG was seamless

The whole thing was awesome. I am extremely anxious for this now.

Lizard curls his tail around Spidey's neck. Lizard and spidey fighting at top of some tower. CG looks FAR better than raimi.
