Just wodering, what are some opinions on this film? I watched it not too long ago for the first time in a while and just thought it was average. I want to know, why does it stand out as one of the greatest films of all time? What's really that memorable about it?

De Niro's performance alone is enough warrent to consider it a classic; not to mention everything else.

Normally I don't insult people for their tastes, but...yeah, if you don't like Taxi Driver, you don't like movies. Period.

TAXI DRIVER? CAPE FEAR? CASINO? GANGS OF NEW YORK? THE AVIATOR? THE DEPARTED? Good call on Goodfellas though.

Great flick, didn't like it one bit the first time but it grew on me big time the 2nd time I saw it. DeNiro is brilliant ofcourse.

Not only was his performance in RB better but I also consider it a better film.

I mean, Raging Bull is an all time favorite. But I think Driver is just..decent.

Cape Fear, Casino, Departed, Goodfellas, all great.

Gangs of NY, NY NY, Aviator all mediocre.

Leo was great in Aviator but it bored me to death, he was it's only saving grace.

Liked it, but I prefer 90s-2000s Scorcese over 70s-80s Scorcese.
