fox rejected hellfire and it's planned showrunners went to work again for 24.

X-factor was never mentioned seriously for a tv show.

I wish they went with a new animated X-men show instead of a second live-action show, though with all the rights issues that might not be possible, who knows.

A live-action show is just asking to add more confusion to continuity with the films, regardless of whether they acknowledge film continuity or not.

Marvel has all the animated rights, so it is all on them on creating a new one.

Marvel and Fox have to work together on live action series. I think if Marvel's Netflix shows can essentially work separate from the movies, I think Fox's shows will be fine. See also, the DC shows.

“Without getting into specifics that I’ll get murdered for, I would say that a fan of the movies — particularly the movies but also the comic books — would not be disoriented as to where this fits in the mythology. If you look at the movies that take place, they don’t all line up perfectly. So it’s not like I’m slavishly fitting myself into a particular slot [but] if you like that world and the world of the movies, there are definite nods to it, it definitely exists in the same general universe.”

“Without getting into specifics, it’s sort of designed to side-step questions like ‘Where is Wolverine?’ So you sort of have to answer those questions, and I didn’t want to do anything like ‘Wolverine is just offscreen!’ You know what I mean. So it exists in a world where those questions are answered without needing to name a lot of names or spend time dwelling on that issue. So within that, there are a certain amount of those characters I can use, and I’m using some of those, but others I’m inventing. But everything is invented with a nod towards the existing mythology. When I was pitching the show, I pitched some characters that appear nowhere in the mythology, but the guys from Marvel, when I started describing them, all gave each other knowing nods. It was like ‘Oh I see what he’s doing, yes.’ So I tried to do a lot of that. I didn’t want to get into the realm of too much ‘Yep! New X-Men here we go!’ because with this there’s a little bit of fan service.”

No, they have the tv rights in general. Not a single person has been able to substantiate the legal split between animation/live-action. So it's entirely by choice.

If it's anywhere as fun as Gotham, count me in.

Pretty certain that 2 X-men cartoons happened after the Mutant X lawsuit.

Hollywood Reporter interview with the writer.

He seems excited about it. Keeping an open mind, just based on that interview.

Yeah, but Disney didn't have the tv rights to anything until after Wolvie & X-Men

Yet, I am not seeing anything that showed Fox being involved, which if the Mutant X ruling applied, would be required.

I still stand by how petty that lawsuit was, but you do know there's a difference between an actual X-Men show and a Marvel-produced show Fox claimed was ripping off that license to "profit off the movies"?

I think both cinematic universes have their strengths and weaknesses but it's absolutely hilarious to me that people from that site are complaining that Dinklage was "wasted" in the role of Bolivar Trask when it's the MCU that's known for a pretty forgettable rogue's gallery.

I honestly would rather have X-Factor and Alpha Flight than Legion and Morlocks.

X-Factor would be like the X-Files or Fringe... with superpowers. Something where government agents investigate strange phenomena which can't be chalked up to mutant powers. It would clear room on the X-Men roster by transferring Quicksilver and Mystique to the new team.

Alpha Flight would be like Jag or MASH... with superpowers... and Canadian. Something where it's a military drama that mostly takes place inside a base with occasional field operations. Something that's really character driven but also has the Master of the World as an antagonist.

And both teams would cross over. Since X-Factor is American and Alpha Flight are Canadian, there's room for some tension there. Both teams may not trust each other and their fears may very well be justified. If I were in charge, I'd have Multiple Man or Mystique steal some of Sasquatch's research as a plot point.

I don't think Legion was anyone's first choice. Or a choice anyone thought of. But look at the talent involved, and damn it if it isn't worth more than a X version of the CW shows.

Thing is the cinematic universes could co-exist but since avengers opened it has gotten impossible.

while i like apocalypse more than many others here doesn't matter to me if people trash it though i will continue to defend X2,DOFP,and X-Men.It's know by now i hate Last stand and origins and consider first class the most overrated X-Men film.with deadpool it is matter of taste.if i ever read the solo comic i may like character more but as it stands i think for his own film deadpool is fine but arguement is when people want every x related film to be like deadpool.

while i haven't seen Dr strange only MCU film i outright hated is iron man 3.even the thor solo films which i call weak had decent sstuff on the asgard
scenes the earth scenes wear them down.i very much liked the captain america trilogy even though i didn't like spider-man in civil war at all.while i am sick of stark the first iron man film is very good film.when i listened to
X-men film fans around here and ignored others and sat around and watched GOTG and ant-man they weren't bad.i will always like X-Men more than avengers.Having sat down and watched bunch of episodes of daredevil on netflix that is actully one of better MCU efforts. The kingpin blows away most MCU villains on big screen.

with DC i actully enjoy gotham and the Flash/arrow/LOT more than films.so i can be as critical of dc as much as i have been MCU.I was meh on both man of steel and Surcide squad.DC is one of reasons i am down on reboots.Tim burton batman films, richard donnor superman,Superman returns, and the nolan dark knight trilogy are all superior to DCEU in my oporion.

remember boliver trask was killed shortly after he wa sintroduced in comics so DOFP used him approatetly.the site that shall not be named was simply taking a shot at X-Men films when they said that.Because it was peter dinklage playing trask noone mentioned one thing they could have used to bash DOFP the fact they had a dwarf play a normal size character from comics.DInklage was so good that didn't matter.

I will take the CW shows over DCEU.

according to Nix it seems like legion is more in own universe and this Is
part of X-Men universe.

This would probably looks as budget TV as Legion, so eh. I would rather see them spend their energy in a two hour movie than a 8 to 22 episode TV season.

I agree.We're long overdue a new X-Men animated series.
