Here is a scene from Demolition Man

John Spartan is in a car that wont respond at all & in the original cut he shouts

"Break, break, break you Mickey Mouse piece of *******************************************

In the TBS edit it goes like

"Break, break, break you Mickey Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

:ninja:

Anybody have any other exambles of TBS edits ?

please don't tell me that actually happened...

that's a hilarious edit?

Awesome! I love it when cable shows USED to do that....it's too bad we've become so uncensored that FX just allows the level of profanity on TV to stay in.

But anyway, I remember we used to have "Major League" taped on VHS from an airing on USA. That movie has so much profanity, it was like watching a Japanese dub! :woot: There is a scene where Charlie Sheen and Corbin Bernsen's characters get into a locker room fight. And I still remember the dialogue from TV

Original Edit:
**Bernsen charges Sheen**
Sheen: What the 'F' are you doing, mother'f'er!
Bernson: You wanna 'F' my wife, do ya!? 'F' you!
Sheen: No, 'F' you!
**Fighting starts**
Bernson: You little 'F'er
Sheen: 'F' You!
...**More cursing as the fight breaks up**

USA edit
Sheen: Hey what?
Bernsen: What's a matter kiiiid, can't you take a joke?
Sheen: Oh yeah, funny. Very funny.
Bernsen: Yeah, that's funny!
**They start to wrestle**

...LOL! It's awesome!

I am sorry to say that they really did edit it like that & yes it was hilarious hearing him shout out Mickey Mouse :woot: & there are a whole lot more edits like that in TBS's edit of Demolition Man because that movie is basically nothing but curse words every few minutes or so but that edit stood out

what did they do with the scene where john swears to gets tickets to wipe his ass with then?

I dont remember every edit. They ****ed up that movie to much to remember :o

But yeah if you see the edit you will knwo somethings been changed its that obvious

They cut it out entirely.

But I remember when Fox aired Demolition Man w/the scene in there. It was SEVERAL years ago, but I think it went something like this:

Stallone (to the machine): "You dumb, stupid, fart-facing, twirp. I should kick your teeth down your throat."

There was one in the Matrix where Neo is being questioned by Agent Smith and he tells him "How about I give you the finger and leave" or something like that, but the edit they change it to "How about I give you the flipper."

I also like how on ABC they were showing Lethal Weapon 2 and when Joe Pesci would go on one of his rants about them ****ing you, they changed it to freak. So it was like "The freak you at the drive thru! The always freak you at the drive thru!" It just sounded really funny.

Scarface has got to the funniest edit on TV

original
"This place is like one great big p***y just waiting to get f****d"

edit
"This place is like one great big pineapple just waiting to get plucked"

"where did you get that beauty mark tough guy, eating p***Y?

"wher did you get that beauty mark tough guy, eating pineapple?"

Yippie-ki-yay, motherfriend.

Never saw it, but that's what my brother always jokes about. Apparently it's from the end of With a Vengeance.

I remember watching Die Hard 2 on CBS as a teenager. I was in the 7th Grade and I can still remember this b/c my best friend and I were laughing so hard!

It was at the end of the movie when Bruce Willis lights the fluid the goes on to blow up the plane. They dubbed his signature line as, "Yippie-ki-ya, Little Falcon!"

:woot: It was so funny! We continued to mimic it for months to come. But surprisingly the editing crew actually did something that made sense. I believe "Falcon" was the code name that the baddies were using on the walkie talkies in one scene. :)

This is maybe a bit off topic...cause I'm not referring to the editing of scenes, but for a couple of spoof movies...particularly "The Naked Gun" and "Loaded Weapon 1" the tv versions actually have different scenes than the theatrical versions. I assume those were done so they could fill up tv time with less offensive content, but they're really good scenes...and aren't on the DVD versions anywhere, which is real shame.

But on topic, I remember watching "Dumb & Dumber" on tv once. After the line "Just tell me where to sign, bub." Jim Carrey replies (Instead of "Right on my a$$ after you kiss it!") "Right on my sandwich after you kiss it!" Which seriously makes no sense no matter how you hear it.

From "Big Daddy."

Original
Julien: Is that the guy with the old balls?
Sonny: I don't think you're supposed to say balls, testicles, OK?

Edit
Julien: Is that the guy with the old back?
Sonny: I don't think you're supposed to say back, testicles, OK?

And I heard that in their edit of "From Dusk Till Dawn" they change the name of the bar to "Kitty Twister."

My favorite was from the USA cut of Casino where Sharon Stone just keeps screamin "F*** you!" to Deniro and they changed it to "Freak you!" Normally it's be a fairly boring edit, but hearing it something like five times in a row in the span of two seconds was great.

Also, any one of the dubs for Jason Mewes in Mallrats is priceless.

the best TV edit ever is from the comedy central version of The Big Lebowski.

John Goodman's character shouts "this is what happens when you f**k a stranger in the ass!"
on tv, they change it to "this is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!"

have you ever seen the USA Edit of Mallrats? That one is so hillarious, just for what they changed all of Jay's dialouge too. And the guy doing it sounds nothing like Mewes. I believe they even talk about it on the DVD.

kevin smith said the USA edit was brilliant filmmaking :woot:

American History X was pretty funny.

Ghostbusters:

Winston: I've seen S**T that'll turn you white.

Ghostbusters on ITV:

Winston: I've seen SCHTUCK that'll turn you white.

What I think is interesting about some of these edits is that sometimes they put in scenes that weren't in the movie at first.

Like this one from Ghostbusters...

Ray: "Sir, everything was going good until our power grid was shut off by dickless here."

TV Edit...

Ray: "Sir, everything was going good until our power grid was shut off by Wally Wink here."

The TV edit was actually a shot that they didn't use in the original film.

So you support censorship? I gotta admit, some TV versions of movies are hilarious in how they butcher the original intent of the filmmakers.

In regards to the spoof movies having different scenes put in the TV versions aired on regular TV stations or cable stations, one good example is Naked Gun 33 1/3. In the theatrical uncut version, where Anna Nicole Smith's character leads Frank to a room before the Oscar ceremony and she takes off her dress (you see a silhouette that shows her taking the dress off, and you see that her character has a dong), which makes Frank sick.

In the TV version, the scene is altered. Instead of the more offensive silhouette scene, they have a scene that shows ANS from the side and shows her dress falling to the floor, and then it cuts back to Frank's sickened reaction. It's funny both ways.

Oh, and there's another case of deleted scenes placed back in the TV version aired on TV, presumably to pad time out to two hours or three hours. The Lost World's TV version reinserts an extra scene with Pete Postlethwaite's character punching someone else out, and there's another scene that I can't remember.
