Supporters of the Chicago International Film Festival will get a big treat on July 16, two days before the official opening of the Chicago-made ''The Dark Knight,'' the much-anticipated new ''Batman'' flick starring Christian Bale and featuring the late Heath Ledger's final performance in a major film.

They have private screenings they've only done that for every major Hollywood blockbuster. Someone will then upload the dodgy cell phone footage.

In some states its required by law that the exhibitors (movie theatre owners) see the film before it is shown in the theatre. That is what caused the Indy leaks, and it could very well cause leaks for TDK.

5:30 is red carpert (good thing for fans to get to early and try to grab autographs)
6:30 is the nolan tribute
7pm is movie
9:30 is post party

150.00 bucks gets you in for the movie and party.


Just remember your only seeing it 29 hours before the Midnight shows begin on thursday night/friday morning.

I've been to these before (not this expensive) and its very classy. Sorta like the oscars. everyone is dressed super nice and city officals and stuff will prob be there. It's not gonna be full of crazy batman fans like the mighnight shows will be. I'm still going back n forth on if I'll go. But if I do...I'M DRESSING UP!!! F THAT SUIT N TIE CRAP!!

I'm so pissed. I live 60 miles away from Chicago (That's roughly 45 minutes of driving), and I would totally go and pay $150.00 for a ticket, but I'm leaving for Europe July 1st-August 1st.

As I, and others too, have said yes they have apparently had test screens based on the heath/bodybag thing. Australia has a similar law where the Office of Film and Literature needs to view the material, they are made up of community representatives and they leak like a tea bag. Some of their members give reviews of films, for papers, before the trailer even comes out. t:
