If you have actual spoilers for the movie....put it in this thread and this thread only....AND....put it in spoiler tags.

I also heard somewhere that Bane traps the gotham police force underground. So that happens at some point probably too.

I don't really see why so many people are expecting disappointment.

Shape, can you tell us how [BLACKOUT]Bane kills the "what are you" guy? I'm curious about that. I want to say that Bane breaks his neck, but I don't think grabbing the face is a good way to break a neck...[/BLACKOUT]

So yeah like I said before...

I think Bane's plan goes like this:

- Stock exchange attack

- Football stadium attack

- Bane realizes that the army may come so he rigs the bridges with bombs and blows them up at the right time

- Courtroom scene

Then...

The police strike back, with Batman on their side?

I'm interested in how the public at large will react to Bane. I could see him being overshadowed by Catwoman, even with Tom Hardy's performance.

I agree he has a very tough job to make an impression, considering he is basically the following act from Heath's Joker (a popular character and fantastic portrayal) and now he's playing alongside Anne's Catwoman (another popular character and all counts another potentially fantastic portrayal).

However, Nolan has been talking up Hardy's portrayal as Bane, and he was also the first person Nolan appears to have gone to and cast from the new players early in pre-production, so there is potentially some promise there.

I don't either, but such is life with respects to some of these posters anyway. I couldn't be more excited about the supposed ending.

Shape, one small question:

Does Crane only have one scene?

Yup. I have a feeling I'll like Hardy's perfomance and consider it a major improvement over Bane's comic book/cartoon incarnations, but the public only seems to respond to showy iconic performances of already iconic characters.

I'm hoping he gets some kind of conclusion rather than disappearing or just running away.

Im ignorant of the scarecrow in the comics, but didn't he just kind of appear and disappear all the time in the comics? Thats the impression I have anyway.

I don't see how he could be overshadowed by Catwoman. They are two very different characters with different motivations. Bane has a few more scenes and his are a little more powerful, IMO. Sometimes A LOT more powerful.

Well those are just comics, villains appear and disappear and reappear when they are needed. This here is a conclusion of the story, no more installment where he can appear again so I'm hoping we know what happens to him.

I agree completely.

I haven't been disappointed with anything I've read before. If any of the endings I've heard are true, and it's executed perfectly (or near perfectly), I'll be very happy.

Shape,

Would you say Crane's scenes are better or worse than his in TDK?

I wonder if he joins in the final Bane/mercenaries vs. Batman/police showdown at city hall?

That sounds very encouraging to hear.

I want to love and appreciate both characters and portrayals by Tom and Anne (I say 'want' as I haven't seen the film yet), and I just hope others will too and look at each of them in their own separate lights rather than against each other.
