Nope. He slept with Tatelia, then got his back broken (thanks to Selina's double cross), came back to Gotham and asked for her help. Fail to see where he became infatuated. Much as I loved their performances, this Selina/Bruce relationship doesn't hold a candle to BR. The Nolans can't write convincing romance.

Well they did dance, kick ass together, and kiss at the end. The both know each other on a deep level. What else could Nolan write or portray?

But you could also view it as "the" start of their 'relationship'.
Selina even asked Bruce to come with her somewhere in the film.
So I guess we can imagine that he did that in the end (and maybe suggesting a nice place, wich in the end happens to be the city & spot that Alfred visits every year :yay:)

I myself see the whole ending as a part of our own imagination. Fill it as you want to see it, cause the ending has more then one possibility.

There was nothing in their relationship as strong as the mutual attraction that Keaton and Pfeiffer had. I never got a sense that he loved her, and he had no reason to - she betrayed him, FFS!
I'm going again on Friday night, maybe I'll get a better sense of it then.
Don't get me wrong, both actors did a great job, and Hathaway was STUNNING, but I didn't get a strong sense of overpowering attraction.

Certainly does, considering some people regard it as Alfred hallucinating.
That's right, she did.

Can someone fully clarify ras role in TDKR? If he was purely a hallucination of wayne's how did wayne actually get new information he previously did know from him?

Doesn't he learn about ra's back story with talia's mom purely from ras?

In defense of DasFeuerSteight, it is open to interpretation. Because what we have from Alfred's speech in the beginning of the movie about this "fantasy" of seeing Bruce at a cafe a happy man. Who can really say that at the end it was another fantas or real?

Although I believe Bruce made it and the cafe scene was real, I still think the movie viewers can make different assumptions on it.
For the last time, it is not a fantasy. Alfred said he went to a cafe on Holiday a lot and hoped to see Bruce there someday. The cafe is a real place that Bruce knows about.

No. The ending is clear. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1690203/dark-knight-rises-ending-christian-bale.jhtml

Bruce is alive. He is with Selina. There is zero Inception factor going on here.

I agree with kthevs. I might be wrong but did someone not say something about the auto-pilot being fixed? That's got to be a dead giveaway. He's alive, with Selina. Robin goes to the cave. Leaves the door open, yet closes a trilogy on a brighter note.

Fox finds out that the autopilot was fixed.

The whole autopilot thing was a dead giveaway, it was mentioned like 2 times before that whole scene.

I was not really talking about wether Bruce is alive or not. It was always clear for me that he was alive anyways.

But this was posted as a reaction to: "Is he with Selina or not?"
Cause some people find that part weird that he's suddenly with Selina in the end. Made sense for me"
But I thought my view made sense. Just use your imagination for it I guess.

The same goes for the whole John Blake ending.

Can someone tell me how many "Bats" there were in the movie? I counted one but obviously one got destroyed at the end with the nuclear bomb. When they cut to the scene where the scientists are explaining to Lucius about Bruce Wayne fixing the auto-pilot 6 months ago, you can clearly see another "Bat".

It could've been another Bat or it could've just been a prototype, or simulator etc.

that is probably the most symbolic image eluding to Blake as the next Batman

yep. well said, reikowold.

blake is an amalgamation of all the robins, and all of the robins have been batman at some point.

he's an orphan like grayson/todd/and eventually drake
he's a cop like grayson was in bludhaven
he's slightly brash and naive at first like todd
he figures out bruce is batman like drake did
he's basically batman's sidekick in a realistic way

robin john blake is the next batman. why have a new bat signal, and the bats "attack" him when he goes into the cave if he is just robin? it was just like begins. they basically said the city needs a batman, and in the end it doesn't have to be bruce wayne.

The only thing I am disappointed in is JGL not donning the Batsuit and doing an overly growling cigarette voice. xD

Something that is kinda weird. When you see the scene with the will woman, Blake says: Anything for John Blake? She says: No. But then he give her this card and says try birth name and then she finds it.

Why is it Robin John Blake and not Robin "whatever surname"?

If its Robin John Blake, wouldn't she find the name on the list because there's really not that much of a difference.

i think you may need to watch Rises again, not trying to say that like an *******, but Bruce W was very infactuated with Selina (i spelled infactuated wrong, someone please point it out, hahah)

yeah he liked her. she was a strong ,intelligent yet flawed person like him. she lived on the edge, had a decent moral compass on the things that mattered. His time spent among the criminals taught him that things aren't always as black and white as they seem. Love is funny. It can happen quickly and when you least expect it. And why not invite her to Florence? She knows the real Bruce. She's the closet thing he has to a girlfriend. She's attractive.
I have no problem at all with them hooking up.

We don't know if it was Robin John Blake, John Robin Blake, or Robin Blake or even Robin "Some other surname."

It could have been anything -- but it had Robin in it. For all we know the orphan's name was Robin XYZ and his Foster family, The Blake's, renamed him John. I highly doubt that his name was Robin John Blake... but anything was possible. We didn't see his Driver's License.

And he could easily take Robin as an alias/alter ego. John Blake would be his secret identity and he would patrol the city as Robin -- as a way to acknowledge and honor and remember the fact that he was an orphan and to honor his dead parents.

I spent a lot of time avoiding spoilers on this movie. Now that I've seen it, that felt moot. I knew Miranda would turn out to be Talia- an ethnic woman who mysteriously pops into the story with an interest in fusion reactors and saving the world? C'mon, now, I'm not that dull. I also figured out months beforehand that Batman's role in the city would be passed along to Blake, though I was too conservative and thought it would be more metaphor than him actually turning out to be the next crime fighter in Gotham.

The only time I've felt really surprised in these films was the first movie. I'd just figured Liam's Henri and the more ethnic Ra's Ken Watanabe portrayed were part of Nolan's revisions to the story, so when it seemed like "Ra's" survived with a Lazarus pit, I didn't think beyond the one twist.

Also watching the Dark Knight the other day I only just understood the Riddler Reference in it.

The man who threatens to reveal batman is called Mister Reese, one of Riddler's code names, Mister Reese - Mysteries.

Good work.

One more flaw: There's absolutely no reason Batman needed to die. Had he used the auto-pilot and saved Gotham without faking his death, he would still be redeemed in the public eye because he SAVED Gotham from NUCLEAR DESTRUCTION AND EVERYBODY SAW IT.

If he wanted to give up, he could've just done it, passed the torch to Blake.

The only LOGICAL reason he died in the end is because of forced drama and to have a forced twist in the end to make the writers look smart.
