The Dark Knight Rises TDKR Viral Hunters Thread - Part 9

Anyone else feel like the viral marketing for this wasn't as good as TDK's viral marketing? During TDK campaign, comic book stores were getting tagged with hidden joker cards, and people got phone calls from Harvey Dent and Gordon etc.

Im seeing it in stamford ct at 10am on thursday compliments of dell and intel! First at 830am I have to sit through an hour and a half of dell trying to sell me on their new servers though. The best part is that ontop of getting to see it early im going to get paid for being their since its a work related conference ;) Still going again at 12am for imax!!!!

Sure looks like it to me. From what I've read of this one (admittedly little), it seems it has been fueled by people getting points for buying Mtn Dew. Has there been any other campaign? Doesn't look like the Rykin site has changed, and TDK had so many online challenges and documents - the wiretapping of Betty's Pies, legal documents, security cameras, Joker puzzles... even school lunch menus.

During the virals for TDK, I got so much amazing memorabilia/swag and never spent a dime (other than on some clearance Halloween face paint). I love the newspapers, stickers, signs, etc. but I still think the coolest thing I was mailed was the half-charred Dent button! The memories/photos with my friends that came from the Joker and Dent campaigning "assignments" are priceless.

I suppose WB may have considered the TDK virals advertising for both TDK and TDKR, since we're all back to see this film.

I think they intended to have more viral activity. But by FANS.

They were giving out these stickers. And I guess they wanted people to stick them around places all over the world...

So I have some Dew tickets in hand. Specifically though I got them from my manager, who used to be a Pepsi rep but still has friends there, but he couldn't make the showing. Mine is for 5pm Thursday.

I havent heard anything yet either. I asked some people in the GD thread and they said they havent had any contact as well. I sent an email to them and they told me they would let us know within a reasonable amount of time before the showing.

I know how it feels to work that overnight shift, I use to work as a lab technician at a college from 1am to 9am. Definitely dont regret moving on from that job.

I got the day off none the less. I said i needed wednesday or thursday off...oh well.. Hopefully it'll be on one of those days!!

Good God, what would you be doing all night in a lab? All those loud whirring noises and nobody else around.... IME, you're just a canary for anything that decides to break, if you had any knowledge/capability of fixing incubators or freezers to begin with...

I've worked as a lab technician both during and after college, and nobody ever worked a night shift aside from the janitors, and the ones who serviced our specific lab were more like evening shift.

Wow no screenings for Palisades Mall in new york? like for dark knight? dammitt ahh poof

Yeah, I was disappointed there are no screenings in Harrisburg....especially since I saw the prologue there.

I was disappointed there are no (open) screenings in Pittsburgh since they filmed for like a month here

I'm guessing there's still no word on the Mountain Dew screenings? I haven't heard anything since the initial email on the 11th.

Same... got my email on the 11th...Still nothing..... The screenings will most likely be on Thursday. Hopefully they email us back

They're being really inconsiderate. I know its a contest, but they've had some time to figure this out. Telling us the location and time in the last minute is a bit annoying.

I can't wait any longer. For keeping us waiting, I want every piece of gear given away on the dewgothamcity website at the screening, Specially the G-SHOCK Watch.

I've called a few times today and got the same canned response that all the info will be on the email, and we are going to send them today or early tomorrow. They've been saying this since last Thursday.

I'm starting to think they're gonna drop the ball on this one. All the other contests from local radio stations have actually given people their tickets via gofobo. What's Pepsi Co's problem?

I won tickets from a local radio station for a showing on Thursday at 7 but I turned them down because:

1) I assumed Mountain Dew wouldnt be dropping the ball this badly
2) I thought I would give some other lucky Batman fan a chance to go see the movie ahead of schedule.

Im beginning to regret my decision... At least Ive still got the midnight tickets but still... I saw Begins and TDK ahead of their official release dates and was hoping for a threepeat.

Unbelievable. I expect more from the face of marketing for Dark Knight Rises.

This sucks. I had to take thursday night off from work but I don't even know what time or where this crap is haha. I live in Massachusetts so i'm guessing my screening is in boston which is like a 45 minute drive from me. Everytime i get a new email notification on my phone i'm like ooooo!!! and it's like Shop.NHL newsletter. Arghh Basically 1 day left. SEND THE FRIGGIN EMAIL'S ALREADY!

So what happens if Mountain Dew falls through and screw this up? Shouldnt we be compensated somehow? Hopefully its something better then a free shirt...

Anyone want a pic of the Mtn Dew tix I got? I explained earlier in the thread how I got them but I'm assuming they are the same ones you guys are supposed to be getting.

I'm assuming for us, are tickets will be print tickets. I don't think they'll have enough time to be mailing them to us.
