Teacher Breaks 7-Yr-Old's Jaw for Being 'Disruptive'

I dunno. I can think of plenty of people here who needed the **** beaten out of them as kids.

Forget it Blackman, it's Chinatown.

Man, how does somebody justify throwing a seven year old child into a wall and breaking his jaw?

What excuse do you make up to warrant this, what kind of disgusting person do you have to be to do something like that.

Throw this teacher into a wall.

While I confess some little kids can be bad ass terrors that need some major discipline, violence is rarely the way to go. Now if it was high school and the kid posed some kind of threat....well.

Breaking the kid's jaw, I would hope everyone could agree, was excessive force to say the least.

I feel so sorry for the child :( Schools should be safe places

Kids can be a nightmare but putting you hands on them is wrong. If you can't deal with disruptive kids or control your own temper then you shouldn't be a teaching assistant.

That's terrifying.
Home schooling sounds more and more encouraging.

Not really. I get the merits of home schooling but the social aspect of public school should not be undervalued. It's important to be around your peers and learn how to connect and talk to each other.

So they can teach creationism, how the earth is actually 5K years old, and dinosaurs licked their anuses with humans?

That's almost as bad.

If really you think all home schooling is religious, creationist drivel, I have a house to sell you on the moon.

I'm a visual designer for a company that creates content for virtual (ie: home) schooling. None of that garbage is in it, and religion is not the biggest reason for home schooling students.

I highly value the merits and necessity of social interaction, it's just that news like this stimulate the response momentarily.

Are we still talking about the adult breaking the jaw of a 7 years old?

There are pretty liberal people that home school their brats also. And they end up becoming hipsters.

This comment, coupled with the Mel Gibson avatar is proof that you should never have children.

Sure, some children can be bad, but beating them is not the answer. What is it going to solve? Nothing.

dude stannis has ten children, of which I am one of them. He beats all of us when we act out of line but it's okay cause we wouldn't learn nothin' otherwise.

Russell Crowe is my dad. The circle of abuse continues.

I know some kids can be right little ****s but this is insane. There's no excuse. No kid deserves to be assaulted at all much less abused in such a way.

I'm all for whipping your own kids if they are being undisciplined brats and all other measures fail, but teachers should NOT be hitting another person's kids. Like you say, students are little ****s, but this goes way way way too far. If I was this kid's parent that teacher would be knocked the **** out, missing teeth, and have a shattered jaw.

I was whipped with a belt by my parents and grandparents as a child when I was really bad. Especially if I did something really bad in public. It worked for me. The lesson was learned and I knew not to do again whatever I had done. So you could say it solved quite a bit. :)

I think our justice system should allow whipping too as an alternative to jail and fines or as an additional punishment. Especially for violent criminals. With a trained doctor or medical professional overseeing it so that it doesn't go too far. But that's a topic for another time and thread.
