BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) — Hours before a gunman opened fire at a Connecticut elementary school, police in Oklahoma arrested a teenager for allegedly plotting to attack his high school and trying to recruit classmates to help him.

Police in Bartlesville, a community about 40 miles north of Tulsa, arrested 18-year-old Sammie Eaglebear Chavez shortly before 5 a.m. Friday on charges of conspiring to cause serious bodily harm or death. He remained in Washington County Jail on Saturday on $1 million bond, and he is due in court Jan. 11.......



Glad they caught this guy beforehand and arrested him. I haven't talked about the Newtown situation but my prayers go to the victim's families. I have a 4 year old daughter and can't imagine what those parents are emotionally feeling.

I cannot comprehend how this kind of notoriety is desirable to anyone. Oh sure, it's so great to be hated and despised by the whole world (minus a minority of whack jobs) and have people wishing you hadn't shot yourself afterward so they can subject you to the most horrific torture imaginable.

You should see the Facebooks made in tribute to past shooters. People are praising them, saying things like, "I wish I could have been there," and, "I can't wait to join you in hell." It's effing sick.

People are just plain idiots and don't know how to deal with their problems without hurting others. It's a basic lack of humanity and morals that they weren't taught or refused to accept. Considering school shootings are a somewhat newer thing, I'd say our culture is playing more of a part than just access to guns.

I kind of think that is it. Some people think that everyone should care about their problems when everyone else has their own set of problems that they are dealing with just fine.
