TEEN AVENGERS animated DVD movie is based off of A-NEXT

Many people beleave that the upcomin TEEN AVENGES animated DVD movie is based off of the YOUNG AVENGERS comic. I think they are wrong, and based on a recnt interview with Chris Yost and Craig Kyle at www.marvel.com I am right. In the interview, they said TA is NOT based on YA. However, they did say that TA is about the next generation of Avengers. This leads me to beleave that TA might be based on A-NEXT (AVENGERS NEXT). A-NEXT is the next generation of Avengers in the possible future MC2 Universe (where SPIDER-GIRL takes place). Marvel is currently publishing an AVENGERS NEXT mini series, which I don't think is a conicedence. I should also point out that the A-NEXT digests (which reprints the 12 issue A-NEXT maxi series) have been selling very well in WAL-MART and bookstores. So t makes sense that Marvel would adapt this series into an animated straight to DVD movie. Of course while Marvel is quick to say that TA is not based on YA, they are also very RELUCTANT to admit (so far) that TA is based off of A-NEXT.

Only Stinger (The Daugter of Ant Man Scott Lang who never appeared in the first two films) And The Son of Thunderstrike (Who also never appeared)

Spider-girl, The Son of Juggernaut, Jubilee and that Iron Man Wanna be aren't realy connected to the Avengers.

Have you been reading the same A-NEXT book I have been reading? A-NEXT has a stronger conection to the AVENGERS then YOUNG AVENGERS does. Stinger is the daughter of Scott (Ant Man 2) Lang. Thunderstrike 2 is the son of the original Thunderstrike (who was also Thor for a while). Mainframe was built by Tony Stark. Spider-Girl's father, Spider-Man, is an Avenger. American Dream's mother is Sharon Carter, the ex-girlfriend of Captain America. I can go on and on.

I should also point out that TEEN AVENGERS, like the upcoming IRON MAN animated DVD movie, will most likely NOT have a conection to the ULTIMATE AVENGERS movies.

Maybe, maybe not. If the TA movie is set in the near future and deals with the next generation of Avengrs, then I will say the movie is taking more from AN then YA. I should also point out that some of the things done in YA were first done in AN 7-8 years ago.

Agreed! I normally support Marvel dvds but this one I won't. If they wanted a teen adventure, why not make Runaways, which would make a lovely movie.

Nah, I don't think it's possible for Marvel to make a bad movie at this point because they've had enough experience that they know what they're doing now. In fact, I'm of the opinion that since Nick Fury (the one with David Hasslehoff as NF), they haven't done any bad films. Some are better than others, yes, but each has some good in it.

well that makes sense,no gay characters would make it to a kids dvd like that.I do hope iron lad is in it and hulkling and hawkeye.Im ok with a few different characters but the story better fit.

I will give it a try, but I wasn't too happy with the Iron Man cartoon.
I jhust wish Marvel would make a full length incredibly animated (Dinsey quality) Avengers cartoon show or movie. Hey I would even go to the theater to see a Spider-Man animated movie if the quality was great.
In fact that might be where some of the heroes from Marvel would fit better than a live action movie like Daredevil.

I can imagin a super sleak ninja film. With smooth animation and a sleak character design.
Anyway, a full length animated film for theaters would be great

If it is based on A-Next, it should be at least decent—it’s more of a straightforward superhero comic, with relatively little post-modern ultra-angst and darkness of stuff like Runaways, Young Avengers, Ultimates, etc.
