Pa. home was full of fleas, empty beer cans and broken furniture

Updated: 2:53 p.m. ET Aug 7, 2007
BUENA VISTA, Pa. - Inside the home's front door lay a bare, blood-soaked mattress and box spring.

The house was infested with fleas, the plumbing was backed up, much of the furniture was broken and the stench of cat urine filled the air.

Matthew Booth, 34, was lying face-up on the mattress when he was shot in the head early July 30. His 13-year-old daughter told investigators she used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot him in the face, a crime that her attorney said was precipitated by years of sexual abuse.

damn:csad:

she's gonna need a lot of therapy...justified or not, she won't be right in the head for atleast a few years unless she gets the right treatment. If they lock her up and throw away the key...it will be a huge miscarrage of justice.

oh my . . . . I hadn't heard of this before . . . I would have shot his ass too!

In most cases, killing another human being is wrong. But in this case, I just can't muster up the pity for this man. If this all proves true she should be given a medal for wiping this scumbag off the planet before he did something inconceivably worse to someone else.

Well killing isnt the best idea, but telling the cops would be better:whatever:

If she was really trapped in that situation, I doubt the guy would have provided the utensils for a daring escape or call on her part. There's only so much people can endure before desperation kicks in.

touche; I wouldn't personally do a thing like that, but put yourself in her position . . . he molested her; what other option does she really have? to entrust in the legal system? she's a 13-year old, man . . . those survival instincts start kicking in . . .

Man???

:woot:

Anyways, I doubt the shotgun grew out of the ground. He was most likely using it, and if he was using it odds are it was to keep her there.

what's funny is I even edited it cuz I didn't have the comma before man initially . . . guess I should've taken the word 'man' out completely, but it brought a new sense of drama to my post (in my head at least) *shrug*

Damn, can we bring him back to life so we can kill him again?

What if its a situation of gradual emotional abuse, and what the offender is doing to you is not necessarily against the law? It hurts just as much as physical blows, and your mental state can reach a point of exhaustion.

I can already tell the whole sexual abuse angle is a lie. The truth is something similar to the scenario above. Sexually abused! is a classic way lawyers keep child clients out of prison. It has high emotional volativity, and its untraceable so little need be done to "prove it".

Interesting how everybody is automatically taking the side of the teenage girl. Wouldn't it be interesting if it came out that she just killed him, because he wouldn't let her go to a party.

Why is the man with the shotgun hole in face the bad guy automatically?

Well I don't agree with killing but at least she did something about it. Unlike all those thirteen year old boys who don't get found until they're 17.

It's hard to think of anything to say other than "He deserved it." Obviously I can't approve of killing, but the guy was a monster. Pure and simple.

From Todays Pittsburg Tibune

Booth is accused of shooting her father, Matthew Booth Sr., 34, in the face with a shotgun. Booth told police her father had sexually assaulted her for years.

A prosecutor this morning said preliminary test results show some level of sexual assault took place.

This morning, an Allegheny County judge ordered Booth to be transfered to juvenile court.

At hearing last week before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning, psychiatrist Dr. Christine Martone, director of the Allegheny County Behavior Clinic, testified that Booth needed treatment for mood disorders and depression.

Martone evaluated Booth and said she is angry, verbally abusive and exhibits poor judgment and impulse control.
