The show is back!

http://www.worldsfinestonline.com/news/?p=2932

Teen Titans Go! features the return of Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg in all-new, comedic adventures. Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the super hero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. They may be super heroes who save the world every day … but somebody still has to do the laundry! With the ability to turn into any animal or detach their robotic limbs, teenage pranks reach a whole new level. And even super heroes have to take Driver’s Ed. to get a license – especially after wrecking the Batmobile on an unauthorized joy ride to impress a girl!

Featuring the principal voice cast from the original series – Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven and Hynden Walch as Starfire – Teen Titans Go! recaptures everything audiences loved about the original show, while adding laughter at the lighter side of being a super hero. Executive produced by Sam Register (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, The Looney Tunes Show, Teen Titans), with Michael Jelenic (ThunderCats, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) and Aaron Horvath (MAD, El Tigre) as producers, this side-splitting series will premiere on Cartoon Network in 2013 as part of the DC Nation programming block.

Well, this is definitely a surprise.

First Yay more Teen Titans!
Second more comedic?

Honestly?... I can't say I'm thrilled about this.

I've seen a few episodes of Teen Titans and it is in fact the only DC show I haven't watched from start to finish. I've always been meaning to get into it but it's never truly grabbed my interest.

Teen Titans had 5 seasons, 65 episodes. a DTV movie, a video game, a long-running spin-off comic and a ton of merchandise.

PLUS... it got those neat little shorts for the fans. Isn't that enough? Shouldn't this money be spent on a different property? Like a Super Best Friends Forever show?

Meh... I'm thrilled for the die hard fans, but of all the shows they could have brought back this definitely isn't the one I would have picked. Oh well...

And I really hope they haven't put this in production over a third season of Young Justice. A show that hasn't had a proper run unlike Teen Titans.

Exactly. Or a Plastic Man show. Or an Animal Man show. Or a Doom Patrol show. But, nope, we get to re-hash an old series instead.

Hmmm...I thought they were bringing the TT show back and continuing from its style. They're making it even more chibi and even more silly? I thought the balance of action and seriousness and silliness was perfect. It doesn't look like this will be the exact same show but those shorts extended into a 30 minute block.

I'm disappointed.

THIS is EXACTLY how I feel about it!
I own all 5 seasons on DVD. Even the silly episodes are fun, but the serious ones are way better.
But for the show to be (from the sounds of it) even more comedic in tone, and less serious, I'm not so sure.
I'll still watch it though.
I mean heck, I'm one of the few who likes Ultimate Spider-Man, so who am I to judge? LOL

So... what does this mean for Young Justice? Two Teen Titans shows? Seriously?

Oh boy, I don't think I like this. I find it hard to believe that they'll keep Young Justice around if they bring back Teen Titans.

I liked the original show, but the way they describe it now sounds like they're gonna make it sillier with more teen issues crap. The original show did a great job blending action with comedy, so it makes me worry that they seem to be going in another direction.

I wonder if the animation will stay the same, if they'll go with the DC shorts chibi style or do something new.

Until they announce a third season of Young Justice I think I'll say I'm against this idea.

If you're gonna bring a show back, Cartoon Network, bring back Batman: The Brave and the Bold. :argh:

Based on this... it's basically the shorts in half-hour format.

I don't normally judge shows based off promo images before they've aired, but that's just stupid. The chibi thing works in shorts but it's gonna get annoying reaaaaal quick I bet. If this replaces YJ then I'm gonna be super pissed.

They should have tried something new like Doom Patrol.

Well I am sure tt fans will be happy. And its nice to see the original voice actors are back. But I wasn't to much of a fan of all the crazy comedy stuff. So if its just full on comedy I may not keep up with it.

Happy for the TT fans.
I was not one of them. The show wasn't my cup of tea. Dislike the crazy manga
stuff that popped up.
The shorts have been hit or miss. My favorite being the MAD MOD Time Travel short.

Wish they would have done a FLASH series.

It could work if they put it into the format of the old PowerPuff Girls series. Two 10-11 min shorts for a half-hour.

Hmm that could work. But does that mean were going to see the Chibi form of Slade?

Most likely...

I doubt we'll get anything as serious as what the original series gave us. It seemed to be an action packed sitcom now...

This will likely come on after Young Justice Invasion ends, but I'm actually looking forward to this as I guess this is a continuation of New Teen Titans shorts, but in half-hour format. I wonder if the other DC shorts will get the same thing. Basically next year DC Nation will compose of Beware The Batman and New Teen Titans as this is dominated by the Batman universe.

I still think the dc block will just rotate new episodes of what ever shows have new episodes.

that's what I am afraid of...
they're funny as short but as a full show that would be annoying as hell

I hope it stays truer to the original show, an not become a slap stick version of it

Here is a question since we know the voice cast is back. What about original series writers.

As long as CN doesn't replace GL or YJ with this, I don't give a damn.

I doubt this show is replacing YJ and is instead extending CNs DC block into an hour long block. But if it is replacing YJ, I gotta ask what is it with good animated comic shows getting axed after exactly TWO seasons?!

Maybe fanboys will finally have something else to whine about instead of picking on Marvel Animation all the time.
