Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is back on

Nah I love Wally! But only when he's the Flash! It sucks that he's back to being Kid Flash :/

Heck no! It would have been boring with that team! I mean replacing Raven and Blue Beetle with MINI Green Arrow and MINI Flash would be lame.

On a side note, that cover is beautifu!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the new team, I'm just saying it could work either way.

I thought this was a good enough movie, and better than TT vs JL. All of the Titans received a sufficient amount of focus (enough for me to care about them, which can be difficult in such a short movie), apart from Damian and Raven, who featured more in the last movie.

Deathstroke was much better than he was in the last movie. He was a lot more badass and was quite funny at times too. Miguel Ferrer (may he RIP) did a much, much better job than the last voice actor. I do not think this Deathstroke was as good as the one in the TT cartoon or Arrow, but it was still a good adaption IMO.

I thought they also did a good job with Blood. He came off as creepy and very self-important. I liked how they made both Slade and Blood come across as powerful villains. Neither was belittled or made look weak in order to prop up the other.[BLACKOUT] It was only in the end, when he was transformed into a generic monster (the ones heroes usually face in 3rd acts), when I lost interest in him[/BLACKOUT].

Terra was the Titan whose story I enjoyed the most. It was not as powerful or tragic as it could have been (perhaps if they sacrificed others Titans screen-time an focused more on her, it could have come closer to reaching its full potential), but it was still good enough. [BLACKOUT]I did feel sorry for her when Slade betrayed her.
[/BLACKOUT]
Overall, I would give the movie a 7-7.5/10, and Terra and Deathstroke were the characters I enjoyed the most in it.

I liked it. I generally am not a big fan of Teen Titans stories and havent read the Judas Contract before. And it certainly didnt live upto the hype. But it was decent.

I'm assuming the
Slade and Terra thing were controversial in the comics as well?

Yes definitely

I definitely loved this movie more than you probably did but for the most part I agree.

I'm hoping people buy the hell out of this got two reasons though:

1. Getting more Teen Titans centric animated movies would mean we now have a quality alternative to the abomination known as Teen Titans Go!

2. More Animated films that aren't focused on Batman all the time

Nonetheless, do you see yourself rewatching this?

I'm going to watch it in a little bit! I sincerely hope that it's very successful because I want more Non Batman focused animated movies and the Teen Titans is one of my favorite comicbook franchises!

To those that have seen it, does it set up for an eventual sequel? I've heard certain characters make cameos?

Yes there is
a cameo of Donna Troy at the end of the movie
and a post credit scene.

Sounds good to me! Hopefully we get another movie next year and the Titans replace Batman's spot in the animated movie lineup (JL, Batman/Titans, Out of Continuity).

Watching this now. and though it may be a more mature and truer take on the storyline, i still think the animated series adaptation is at least on par with this, maybe better.

That said, I am loving this movie. Love the team. Strong animation and writing. Definitely one of the best animated DC efforts in a while.

Despite some weak episodes, the animated Teen Titans series really was something else. Great animation, pitch perfect casting, and the writing was always strong.

That Deathstroke/Robin dynamic from the animated series was amazing. I'm happy that they're continuing to show that Robin/Deathstroke rivalry in the animated movies as well. Hopefully, that's something that will be carried over into the DCEU as well!

Bottom line, the Titans are easily one of the best aspects of the DCU, and they deserve their own movie series ASAP!!!

OK HEADS UP, SPOILERS!... the thing at the end with Blood getting all their powers was lame! Not a good design there. I liked this movie, didn't love it. Will watch again though.

Teen Titans TAS version of Judas Contract was better.

Yes. It was an enjoyable movie, and one of the better recent animated DC moves IMO.

Agreed.

Did you guys know the Titans were some of the very first DC characters in animation? The first animated tv appearance from the Titans was 1967!

Over the years, the Teen Titans have solidified themselves as one of DCs strongest brands. Hopefully WB is able to see the potential of a Titans movie. If they can pull it off, it will be a big success

Not my favorite, but definitely fun, really glad to see character development from Damian, glad to see hes growing as a character.

I feel like this could have been better executed with more of a pre-cursor movie with "Judas".

(Not JL vs TT, but a seperate story giving more background to ALL the titans and adding depth to the
betrayal
)

Really like how they've all progressed though since JL vs TT, they really seem like a team now, hope we get to see more of them :D

Perhaps they are thinking of doing [BLACKOUT]"Who is Donna Troy?".[/BLACKOUT]

This would be great to see happen because that's probably the best origin for the character before later stories ended up convoluting her backstory.

I also think
Jericho might end up being the villain of the next animated movie if they get one

I enjoyed it!

I liked how this film was focused solely on the Titans, instead of the previous film ( which I also enjoyed ) which involved the JL. However, the prior film was focused on Raven, so I overall didn't mind the inclusion of the JL.....lol.

hope we get more animated Titan films, because I would really like to see more of this particular group and watch them grow as a team.

I did not know that about the '67 animated Titans.

and I would LOVE to see a Titans live action movie. there are so many great, interesting characters to explore and go beyond Superman and Batman.

I wouldn't even mind if they modeled the film version team after this current animated one - because I quite like this animated team make up.

and of course, that means I'd get to see Raven on the big screen. :ilv:

It isn't really surprising, giving that they have a very strong foundation to build on. Wolfman's TT run is one of DCs all-time great runs. It was DCs biggest property at the time (at times selling four times as much as other DC comics). The Judas Contract is also considered one of the best ever DC comic stories. I don't think the movie was anywhere close to being as good as it could have been, given the story it was based on, but I thought it was good enough and enjoyable (despite most recent animated movies being lacklustre, it would have been hard to have been anything other than at least enjoyable, given the story it was based on). Like you said, the TT cartoon did a better job with their version of the story.

The animated series just did such a great job with Slade. To this day, that show has my favorite adaptation of Slade ever.

I'll say that I really enjoyed the animation in this though, and the team is very solid. Blue Beetle is a fantastic replacement for Cyborg.

I sort of like the idea of the Titans not being a bunch of sidekicks aside fromDick. I think they stand on their own more that way.

So Donna was hinted at in the end of this movie. That's exciting, hopefully we can finally get a good take on her. The character has loads of potential, she's just been let down by such a convoluted backstory. This animated version has the potential to be the best take on the character. I've always been more of a Cassie Sandsmark fan, but Donna should probably be introduced first, her ties to the Titans can't be denied. I'm also a bigger fan of Kaldur than Garth, but we'll see if they ever intend to bring either of those characters into the Titans movies

If this Titans movie series continues, I'd add Static and Superboy

if they ever do make a Titans live action film series, it would be nice if they planted the seeds of Judas contract ( Terra's betrayal ) throughout the films, instead of trying to cram it all into one.

so, maybe Terra betrays the team in film #2 or #3.

or maybe, such a story would be better suited for a tv series instead.

regardless, I just want a live action version of the Titans.

You guys know a Titans movie has to. E in the works. How could it not be? Geoff Johns confirmed that there were plans about a year ago. First they were going to have a show on TNT. But hopefully they realized the teams cinematic potential and scrapped the idea of a tv show.

Batgirl and Nightwing were both intended to be members of the team on that Titans show and now they're getting their own movies . DC should hop on a Titans franchise quick. I genuinely think it can be one of DCs premiere franchises alongside Batman, Superman and the Justice League. They should do it quick because eventually you know Marvel is gonna do the Young Avengers

I knew about the TNT series, but I wasn't aware of the film plans.

hope it comes to fruition. because I agree, it has the potential to be a premier franchise.

of course, it must have Raven in it. No Raven, no interest. :o
