Who are the 10 best up and coming actors and actresses in your opinion? Which current young stars will be the major players in Hollywood for years to come?

Working on my list, will post it soon.

I don't know about "new" but I think Andy Serkis should be in more prominent roles. He's been a in a few but he's still very under-rated.

While I can't think of a top 10 off hand, here are some folks I expect (and hope) to be seeing a lot more of in the future.

Shia LaBouef (I know that's not how you spell it lol)
Joseph Gordon Levitt
Dan Radcliffe (I know that he has already achieved sucess comercially, but I feel that once he is done with Potter he will be able to transition sucessfully to roles with more critical clout)
Blake Lively

I'll post some more as I think of them.

In no specific order:

Shia Lebeouf - He's been part of two memorable franchises (Transformers and Indiana Jones), he's a good actor (though I don't think he's shown how good he can be), Steven Spielberg is a big fan of his (that's an incredible connection to have)

Michael Cera - He's been on the radar ever since Arrested Development and has cemented his place in Hollywood with Superbad and Juno and will be part of the future wave of comedy. He plays awkward yet charming extremely well and it'll be interesting to see him develop.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse - Yes, another Superbad boy. He's got that film under his belt and the recent hit Role Models (my favorite comedy of this year) and along with Cera will be the future faces of comedy after Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrel, Vince Vaugn, etc. have fallen out of favor.

Ellen Page - She crept onto the scene with Hard Candy and then silently became an overnight success with Juno and is currently Hollywood's spunky young starlet. Her energy is very different from alot of actresses right now and that's a very good thing in my opinion.

Emma Stone - I think she'll follow her House Bunny co-star Anna Faris' foot steps and become one of the leading ladies of comedy over the next few years.

AnnaSophia Robb - This girl has no business being such a good actress at her age. She really is kind of a phenom in my opinion, she's only been acting for five years or so yet she can probably act circles around actors and actresses who've been in the business for far longer than that.

Megan Fox - I don't think she's a particularly good actress, but she has caught people's eyes because she's stunningly gorgeous and she will continue to be Hollywood's top hottie. I just hope she doesn't follow the footsteps of Paris, Britney, etc. because if so many will tire of her fairly quickly.

Daniel Radcliffe - Already kind of a big star with the Harry Potter films, he's done an excellent job of maturing the character throughout the years. I only hope that his role as Harry Potter won't stunt his career like it's done to other actors who've played iconic sci-fi/fantasy characters, with his talent it'd be a shame if it did.

Dakota Fanning - Another young actress who has already made a big name for herself and has sort of had a dream acting career already having starred in films with Hollywood legends and she continues to grow as an actress.

Emile Hirsch - He's an actor that I think has great range, he can do comedy and drama and he can seamlessly transition between the two. He hit a speed bump with Speed Racer (pun not intended) but I'm sure his career will recover.

Honorable mentions - Brittany Snow, Abigail Breslin, Anton Yelchin, Kat Dennings, Mila Kunis, and Jason Segal

How could I forget Ryan? The most potential I think out of the bunch. He was even good back in his Breaker High days

As for Rachel, I wonder if she really wants to be Julia Roberts. I think she could absolutely be a big star, but she does take long breaks between films sometimes and her film choices aren't really typical of someone wanting to become a huge celebrity.

Completely agree. This guy can only get bigger, and definitely by far the most talented young actor today.

That's a great sig by the way!

Gosling has been great since Young Hercules :D

Question...Do they have to be like real young...Or thirties are acceptable...Or as long as they are making a name for themselves?

I was thinking about putting an age limit but opted against it. How about we just say fresh faces?

Alrighty...Probably post my list tomorrow...!

Me thinky that there has to be a limit for the amount of mainstream/big movies that an actor/actress has been in...Because some of these people have been in the bizz for awhile...!

We'll figure it out, but mostly try to keep it to actors and actresses 30 and under.

1.Joseph Gordan-Levitt - Been around awhile but he's golden in Indie films.
2.Channing Tatum - Young, handsome and sure to get more tough guy roles (needs to stay away from the dancing movies, though).
3.Sam Worthington - though he's 32 he's now getting big with Terminator and Avatar.
4.Anton Yelchin - Charlie Bartlett, Terminator and more to come.
5.Ellen Page - Maybe the most talented on the list.
6.Jaden Smith - I'm sure we'll see more of him with daddy around.
7.James MacEvoy - Been around awhile but he showed huge promise in Atonement and Wanted.
8.Evan Rachel Wood-Bright star.
9.Cilian Murphy - Awesome talent. BB, 28 Days Later, Sunshine...
10.Melonie Diaz- From Be Kind Rewind, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. Shows promise.

Oops...a few of mine are 30+

Nice list, superark. The bolded ones are my favorites. :woot: :cwink:

I'd be remiss to not mention Hayden Panettierre. While Heroes has gone on a bit of a downward slope, she is very talented, and I see her having a long successful career.

Yvonne Strahovski is another actress I see lighting the silver screen up sooner rather than later.

Olivia Wilde is a solid young actress doing her best work to date as Thirteen on House

Ellen Page is quite possibly the best young actress around.

I'll also ass Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Emmy Rossum to crack their way into the A list before long.

Will add more soon. 4 more to go on the girls, and then who I think are the ten best guys :)

James Franco has some potential too .....:cwink:

Amy Adams
Casey Affleck
Marion Cotillard
Paul Dano
Zooey Deschanel
James Franco
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Ryan Gosling
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Emile Hirsch
James McAvoy
Emily Mortimer
Cilian Murphy
Saoirse Ronan
Keri Russell
Michelle Williams
Evan Rachel Wood

I agree with these lists, but these are just a few people I HOPE to see make it big:

Practically the entire cast of "Friday Night Lights". They are all brilliant, but my two personal favorites are Minka Kelly and Taylor Kitsch.

Taylor will be in Wolverine, which will hopefully give him more exposure. Minka has already been in the news for being linked romantically to John Mayer and Derek Jeter, but she will also star in "500 Days of Summer" with both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, so I hope that helps her out.

I also want Maggie Grace from LOST get finally get first big post-LOST role but we will see...

There are others, but all of the other ones I would have said have been mentioned. :)

Amy Adams
Casey Affleck
Marion Cotillard
Paul Dano
Zooey Deschanel
James Franco
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Ryan Gosling
Maggie Gyllenhaal

Emile Hirsch
James McAvoy
Emily Mortimer
Cilian Murphy
Saoirse Ronan
Keri Russell
Michelle Williams
Evan Rachel Wood

You pretty much covered what I was going to write!

Plus, may I add Zooey Deschanel and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

You already bolded Zooey in his list :p
