I just saw a preview for this game in teh new EGM. It says that its being made by Microsoft Game Studios, so I guess the series is now a 360 exclusive. Looks interesting. Hopefully Microsoft can fix it up bc the series has been stale for a while

Well if that cover is true, looks as if it will be a microsoft exclusive. The game looks like it could be pretty cool. Love the idea of co-op.

Yea, unfortunately, i have to agree. I just dont see this game being as good as it could/should be.

never played the 2nd one but the first was amazing. The PS2 games seemed more of the same just with better graphics. Not much changed and bc of that they werent as great as they could have been,

I myself have been a fan from the beginning, and when the series went to the P2 and Xbox it was sorta more of the same. (especialy Wrath of Heaven/Return from Darkness) Fatal Shadows was a step in the right direction, but added too little to the series. I've seen clips on youtube and IGN and saddly in the looks department it really doesn't look all that much better than the PS2 versions. Even though I'm pissed that you can't play as Rikimaru or my personal favorite Ayame, I'm looking forward to the character customization, and the online multiplayer is sick as ****.

Homie, the second game, if it wasn't for it's technical problems would have been the undisputed best game in the series.

So is anyone gonna pick this game up? Iv been playing the demo and i really like it. I mean it doesnt bring anything new to the series(other than the create a ninja) but for some reason or another, im having a great time playing it. Im gonna pick it up today i think.

It sucked long before that. I've played the demo of this, and it's... well, let's just say it's an "expected progression" of the series, and that I have no interest in buying it.

Someone really needs to re-invent Tenchu and make it not-suck.

I stopped playing the demo and never picked it up again when it took me more then two hits to kill a dog. You're telling me a ****ing ninja can't kill a dog in one hit?

Well i picked it up today and i love it. Its just fun. Nothing new was really brought to the series but its just as fun as the first one i played on the PSone. The create a ninja was a welcome addition. There are alot of options to choose from to create a unique character. Im sure the game wont rate well based on its visuals and lack of innovation but in terms of "ninja ass-kickery" it rates well.

The first two games were great. Sony and Acquire then left the franchise and in came From Software and rest of the series sucked as a result.

From Software needs to be kicked out of the franchise.

I'm gonna say this: From Software's strength is the Otogi series. They need to make Tenchu more like Otogi.

That, or just make Otogi 3.

Yeah, but unfortunately it'll never happen. Still, I have hope that an authentic Ninja game will eventually find it's way into the hands of a more talented developer.

That would be good for Tenchu, but then bad for me and Otogi.

I must say, having a ninja game like Assassin's Creed would be awesome. Tenchu would finally be worth playing again.

There would have to be some mystical elements though. In the first game Rikimaru had to go up against Onikage and Mei-Oh. It's needed.

If they left out the weird magical crap, I'm sure the game would be a lot better. I don't really think fireballs and whatnot are necessary. You can have explosives, grappling hooks et cetera to make things interesting, but while you're re-inventing Tenchu, why not take the crap out from the beginning?

If there is anyone who has Tenchu Z but hasn't really played it yet send a message to "The Get Backer" on Xbox Live. I need a co-op partner and don't really know anyone. Single player looks fun, but it's always (imo) more enjoyable with 2 people. I'm going to hold off for a day or so until I can find someone to play it with (unless someone messages me today, then we can start tonight). Let me know!
