Neither holds a candle to the first two, but how do these lesser and wildly different sequels compare to each other? Which one would you choose to bring with you to a deserted island?

I guess T3 but I didn't hate either movie. I just thought that both were mediocre.

I picked Salvation... some cool action scenes in there. Ending was boring but I guess I understand the style of it

3. Neither was good, but 3 at least had Arnold and a great ending.

^Thats what I thought, atleast 3 had Arnold and no Sam Worthington and embarrassing C-Bale performance. It was a hard choice though because the ending to Salvation is more fun to watch for it's call backs.

And a hot Terminator chick.

I like the action sequence in Salvation which involves the 2 motor terminators

Salvation, by a long shot. Genuinely enjoyable, some good action scenes and a much better story that's also more serious in tone. T3 is easily the worst of the series, with terrible humor that basically spits all over the series and it's a pathetic retread of T2.

I actuallyed like Sam Worington in salvation.

Bale I'm not so sure.... with him doing the Bat voice and all that.

Salvation was far from the greatest film, but at least it took itself seriously and felt like it had the proper mood of a Terminator film.

Just like Alien Resurrection felt like a parody of Aliens, T3 felt like a parody of T2. "Talk to da hand!" :whatever:

Both are bad, but Terminator 3 is worse. It's almost like a parody of T2.

I fell asleep during Salvation, so T3 by default.

T3 would've won anyway because of the judgement day sequence.

I liked both....the chase scene in T3 is great so I'll go with that.

Both were extremely mediocre and beyond disappointing, but I prefer Salvation. The action in T3 just seemed very slapstick to me. I wasn't impressed. At least Salvation had Bale yelling things and an awesome performance from Anton Yelchin.

Though, if I have to choose any non-Cameron Terminator, it would be The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Gone too soon.... dammit, Fox. :csad:

Yea why did they cancel Sarah Connor Chronicles anyway?

Because like 10 people watched it. :csad:

Which isn't to say the show itself is to blame, as much as Fox's inability to properly market a ****ing show.

Terminator 3 was just plain stupid and it felt like an antithesis to Terminator 2. Like Alien 3 was to Aliens, it's like Terminator 3 only existed to tell James Cameron to shove his own story up his butt and to re-establish the status quo that was at the end of the first film.

Terminator 3's biggest flaw IMO was that by defualt, it had to be chained to Terminator 3's timeline. It was a lot closer to what IMO Terminator 3 should have been, though. T3 should have been a prequel set in the 21st century that explained how John became a hero and protected Kyle so he could go back in time. It would not screw with Terminator 2's continuity at all, it would merely be filling in backstory that led up to The Terminator, and possibly show the birth of the T-1000.

Terminator Salvation wasn't quite that movie, and it did still have to use T3's messed up timeline instead of being a true prequel to T1, but it was still a heckuvalot closer to my ideal T3 than what T1 was. It was IMO an all around pretty decent film that was worthy of the Terminator label, even if Ahnuld was only there as a cameo. You don't need Ahnuld to make a good movie about John Connor-- you just need solid actors.

Terminator Salvation is what Rise of the Machines should've been honestly.

However both were huge missed opportunities and didn't live up to the potential that was necessary. With Salvation I feel they should've just skipped the origins of the war and focused on Reese, John, and of course Skynet.

But, just think of it this way guys, if James Cameron had given us his version of T3, we never would've gotten Avatar, so.......... :csad:

Dammit, Jim.

Salvation easily.

I like both movies, but T3 is sort of a parody of the first two movies. The ending was great though.

I couldn't get into Terminator 3 because it felt really mediocre next to T2 and was similar. I thought Salvation was a lot more entertaining.

Well I like both films, I think they are "ok" and sometimes enjoyable. But Terminator Salvation was way better than Terminator 3.......it was more enjoyable to watch and it had Helena Bonham Carter. :awesome: But no Terminator film will ever beat the awesome power of T2. Terminator 3 definitely had a great ending though IMO.

Terminator Salvation hands down

when T3 hit theaters, I had 0 desire to see it as the previews just looked like a rehash of T2 (and judging from reviews I've read over the past decade, I was right on that assumption)

I have T3 on DVD yet I still have not seen it, not once.

at least Salvation had a but load of action scenes that were top notch, I absolutley LOVED Bale as J.C., all of the homages to the past films, Anton Yelchin (nuff said, excellent young Reese) and even though Sam let his damn accent slip through in a couple of scenes, he still did a decent job. (but he needs to control that if he's going to be a star in Hollywood, it does take you out of the scene when you hear him sounding American one second, and Australian the next).

yea, despite it's flaws, Salvation was still a "decent" flick and far superior to T3

Salvation, for sure.

Although I think T3 is an ok movie, Salvation actually felt like the better Terminator movie.

Seemed like T3 just tried to hard to mimic T2. Mostow just didn't have it in him to make a great Terminator film. At that point in movies, everything had to be "Matrix-y" and that just got annoying. Now there were parts of Salvation I didn't agree with, but overall, what I'd sit through more often is T:S.

The facepalm moment for me in T3 was the strip club scene and the sunglasses gag after. "Talk to da hand":whatever:
