healing as small scars healing. in TG it regrows over his whole arm and a big part of his face.

thats just so bad writting

He had about 12 gunshot wounds in his back in T2 when he said he would heal, not really that small. In T1 Reese describes the skin as living tissue, living things age.

Heal enough to still remain an effective infiltrator, thats how I see it anyway.

What I found quite lame was the lack of damage to Pops after he dive bombed a helicopter. I'm pretty sure he looked pretty much the same as he did prior to the dive bombing.

The two red letter media videos on this are epically hilarious.

I really really liked the first 30-40 minutes of this film. For a moment there, during a certain action sequence involving several terminators, I thought this might actually be as good as the first ones! Sadly, the movie decided to go somewhere completely different instead, and I wasn't so happy about it. The story stops making much sense, character motivations are laughable and the thing just starts falling apart.
I wasn't bored or anything, what bothers me is that they had an excellent idea to continue the story but they decided to not stick with it, which is a real shame.

What would that have been?

The idea they establish in the first half of the film. That this is a different timeline and there are Terminators before 1984. I like the fact that they know what happens during the first movies, so someone decides to intercept Sarah when she was a child. I think everything that happens before 1984 is much more interesting than the nonsense from 2017.

T1 and T2 work so well because those movies are not interested in what happens in the future, they are interested in the characters from the past and what they decide to do or sacrifice with that information. Knowing how Skynet goes "online" or who is controlling it and what happens with a certain JC, is just not interesting to me. And Genisys does exactly that.

Looks like the second week box office hold was better than expected. Only a 52% drop.

Finally, took the family to watch this today. It's not a bad movie at all. It's without a doubt the 3rd best movie in the franchise. Didn't like Termi John but I guess at this point this series has done it all, making this about the only stone left unturned. Jason, Emilia, & Jai weren't bad but average probably sums up their performance. I don't know if another cast would've made a difference, even with me not liking Courtney as an actor. Arnold was good. Alot of the movie felt like a rehash of T2, especially the 1st half. I don't know if I'm even interested in a sequel. What's next, Termi Sarah? Reset the timeline again? I think this franchise should consider this the end and close the book.
6/10.

Is this movie worth watching? I have heard some pretty bad things about it.

Well, it's hard to say and depends on how critical you are. I thought it was worth the price of admission. If you liked T3 & Salvation and thought they were worth the price of admission, then you'll surely be ok with TG.

It did pretty good internationally too .
A little over 47 million.
And over there, it was only a 35 percent drop.

It's done very well overseas. It's the biggest international opening of Arnold's entire career.

Let's also remember that Skydance owns the rights to all of the Terminator merchandise which could play a big factor in continuing the series. Terminator merch ****ing sells around the world like hotcakes.

$224 million worldwide isn't half bad. If they can keep cranking out those Resident Evil and Underworld movies, this has a chance.

Where does it go from here?

Maybe the sequel is set a few years later and a new threat was the one that sent a terminator back to the 70's, but wait, wouldn't that be a whole other universe/dimension what have you?

It's too confusing now to try and connect the dots.

I say let's have a sequel where Sarah Connor, aka Linda Hamilton, wakes up. She is pumped high on morphine.

John Connor, aka Edward Furlong is sat by her side. He steals some, slips off into a dream.. we see a montage of T3, T3 and then TG.

He wakes up, the Rock is looking at him - with put uttering a word, blows them both away.

What happens next is a good a guess as any, but the Rock head lining, boom, $$$$$$

Agreed, but then again those movies (or at least Underworld) keeps a relatively modest budget so they're usually always able to make profit.

But, again, Terminator Salvation cost $200 million & made $371 million WW, and another film was still made. This cost $45-$50 million less so if it makes it to $400 million like it seems to be on track to do, there will definitely be a sequel.

This movie wasn't horrible. It was just mediocre. The whole John Connor heel turn is still stupid but if you just roll with it, it's slightly less disappointing.

I wouldn't say it's stupid (at least imo) but it needed a bit more weight and to not have been revealed in the trailer.

That's the standard for this franchise to reach now? :csad:

Not if it were up to me, but yes. I'd have Neill Blomkamp or Duncan Jones or Christopher Nolan take over, and let Arnold retire permanently. But none of this will happen.

This is a franchise that peaked in 1991, guys. Just be happy you're getting Terminator stuff. I just want stuff now. I want it kept alive and not a memory from 25 years ago.

I think they'll go the GI Joe route and tweak the franchise. They'll kill off Jai Courtney in the first act and hire a new director.
