I don't think he's right for it. Ignoring the fact that the parts I liked least came from him, I think he's too clean for this kind of film and a little too talky, it works wonder for classy stuff like The Prestige and The Dark Knight. I'd much rather Brian Helgeland, Joe Carnahan or Shane Black, those guys have the grit, the mean spirit and the testosterone for this kind of movie.

Anyone think that if Skynet hadn't used Marcus in its plot to kill Connor, then Connor would never know that Kyle was in Skynet, and would therefore go ahead with Ashdowns plan to attack Skynet aka a big frigging trap, which would've resulted in Connor's death just as it did Ashdown's and the other leaders?

If Marcus hadn't existed I'm sure they would've found another way to lure John into Skynet, though. Skynet never could've won.

Well, John wouldve followed orders if Marcus wasn't deployed (as we're told) by Skynet, so he would've been caught in the ambush intended for the Resistance that took out the sub.

That's a good point. Why did Skynet go to the trouble of luring John into their HQ when he probably would've been killed along with the rest of the Resistance if theyd've done nothing? I need to rewatch the movie because I can't remember a lot of details about the plot.

LMAO & not only was there one machine in a Terminator factory Skynet planned on John being there & still did nothing & they also did nothing to stop Marcus when he decided to go help John

There were no T-600's to meet the incoming Resistance. And the defenses being shut down was a ploy by Skynet to let Connor in - why they didn't blow him away at the door I don't know. They could've feigned shutdown.
