Terminator: Salvation - The NEW new thread

Sony Vegas and Final Cut Pro are the greatest editing softwares available. When it comes to higher scale spec. effects and 3D we have MAYA and for DVD Menus DVD Architect. Those are the four best in film production.

Pretty much all feature films nowadays are edited with Avid, but Final Cut is starting to get popular as well.

I believe Cold Mountain was the first edited with FCP, I'm glad to see it slowly crawling into wider use.

Avid was just a bit too clunky for me as well as the file management system, but pro editors say that you'll like the first program you learn on the best. Proved true for me.

More on T5:

Terminator Salvation Producers Avoid Losing Rights ... for Now

Producers Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek purchased the rights to the Terminator franchise in 2007 for their Halcyon Co. production company, using a $30-million loan from hedge fund Pacifcor. Two years later, Terminator Salvation has earned $371 million worldwide, mostly overseas, while Anderson and Kubicek have filed for bankruptcy. But things are looking up for them. Variety reports that a bankruptcy judge has given the producers a reprieve, allowing them to continue developing Terminator 5 and other properties. The producers blame Pacificor for pushing them into default, and Anderson thinks Salvation's quick turnaround was also at fault.

From when we heard about the possible opportunity, and the time in which we had to act, when we closed on the rights, the development of the script, to when the film was released, was such a short window. There were huge time obstacles we had to overcome. Obviously, this is the last place we thought we would be in.... But you have to deal with what's in front of you. It's been eye-opening.

The pair are hoping not to sell the Terminator rights and Anderson claims there is plenty of interest in another Terminator:

Victor and I are both huge Terminator fans, and we do see [Salvation] as a foundation for where we take the franchise in the future. Studios are enthusiastic. We have no regrets, all the trials and tribulations aside.

So Terminator 5 is back on track, for the time being. Considering Salvation's mediocre reception, it's hard to determine if this is good news or not.

i just hope they get a good director this time

yea, this time get John Nolan to do the whole script

That's actually a REALLY good idea...man, I can't even imagine what Nolan would due with full control. It'd be an interesting Terminator film for sure

when did John Nolan do a script on hes own? hes good work was always with hes brother right?

Doesn't sound like they've learned too much from TS. If they actually film McG's idea for this film...

Uhm....

...yeah. This needs some serious re-thinking. If they do it right, even though TS wasn't the "shizzle", they could pull off another one if they get their heads out of their arses, so to speak. Come with the REAL Terminator. The one that doesn't stop, doesn't hesitate, will NOT give you a break until you are DEAD. THAT is the Terminator that I want to see.

I think if TS's DVD sales are good we will get a sequel, if they arent, I honestly dont know if this will go beyond just being talked about, we'll see I guess.

Wow, the practical effects on Worthington looked amazing. They're really came far since T2.

this is what happens when you work for the best .:hehe:

Sorry, that doesn't sound like a strong confirmation for Terminator 5 is you ask me.

To be honest, its not a confirmation, but they are working on it, so we'll see I suppose, I think they are waiting for the DVD sales before it even gets close to a green light.

i dont expect hgue dvd sales. this was a sumemr blockbuster. everyone saw tv spots or trailers for this. they knew what to get and they go it. i just can not see how this movie would work better on DVD and BR then in the theater.
