Terminator: Salvation - The NEW new thread

but still you have to admit that it will be funny when MCG starts working on a new movie. some people will say '' what if he changed. maybe it will be different''.

like with every big fox movie.

Hating on X-Men 3 isn't BS. Placing the blame 1000000% on Ratner is. He was brought in mere weeks before filming was supposed to start after Matthew Vaughn (who worked on the story/script with the writers) jumped ship. All the major decisions to be made had already been done. Thus these morons screaming to the top of their lungs, "It's all Ratner's fault! He killed the 'X-Men' franchise!" are just that - morons who don't know what they're talking about.

On the other hand, McG deserves all the hate. He was brought on board early on when the film was fast-tracked (i.e. working with various writers, casting, talking outta his ass with lies he couldn't back up, etc.)

Don't hold your breath waiting for a G.I. Joe sequel. Thank you for the kind words.

I place it on multiple places INCLUDING Ratner. I also blame Singer for abandoning ust.

You give us legit news and you don't talk out of your rear. I remember in the Justice League situation in like 07 08, you seemed to be the only one with common sense during that whole ordeal when people were going off of ******** some moron named UNCLE BINGO was reporting on IMDB FORUMS(!). And that other news blogger who didn't know what the hell she was talking about (was her name Emay? I forget).

We need more ent. reporters in the biz like you. You're an inspiration in my work for sure.

Oh...now...I talk outta my ass plenty. People like Showtime, Matt, I SEE SPIDEY, etc. will concur. I just don't make **** up regarding news and all. I've been right some times, wrong other times, and so on. No body has a bullet-proof track-record. God knows I don't. Again, thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

James Cameorn has one.
ohhhh i did it :awesome:

just joking

Hmm..

McG shouldnt ever be compared to Cameron in any way, ever.

Zing. :oldrazz:

In all fairness to Cameron he was fired after eight days and the producer took over. The only reason he gets credit is because the Italian producer wanted an American name on the movie.

we are just joking a little. camerons movies are also not perfect.

but thank god that MCG did Chuck. i love it. :woot:

You don't know Jayne obviously. Which is a good thing. No need of wasting one's time with someone like her.

LOL,

She was doing a lot of movie blogging a while back, not sure if she still does, and a lot of people were looking at her reports on the JL movie as fact when basically none of them turned out to be true and the movie ultimately got killed.

Well to your credit Jamie, yes, you don't report the fake news or stuff that's always being spread around the net that are mostly heinously fake or end up being take it with a huge grain of salt and what not.

I blame the studio more than I blame Ratner for X3, but I still dont like him and place some blame on his shoulders as well, he doesnt get off scott free with me.

Just out of curiosity Jamie, will the DVD sales improve the chances of GIJ2?

Also, what is more likely at this point, Terminator 5 or GI Joe 2?

it's just a sad situation with the Terminator franchise..

Ok, so calling this a "director's cut" is total crap. Only two shots were added in that I can tell.

I will say that, now that I've seen it in the theaters and at home, there are too many positives to this movie to not continue on in another sequel. It's not perfect by any means - it's flaws (namely holes in the story) show easily. I'd still like to see a version of the movie with the full scene in the submarine between John Connor and General Ashdown on the submarine. There's a lot of good exposition in there.

I only watched some parts of the director's cut. Not the whole movie from the beginning. Here are some descriptions of the new stuff:
Here's some quick descriptions

There's a T-1 Unit attack scene which is just a few second and doesn't add much. It's not even exciting, it doesn't even fire it's miniguns and doesn't kill any human.

Ashdown gun to John's head:
Ashdown: John Connor, prophesized leader of the resistance. Soldier, you put every man and woman in this sub in jeopardy with your little frogman stunt.
Let's get one thing straight. I don't believe in prophecy. Not when one can rewrite the future [gun to John's head] in a heartbeat. Are we on the same page?
Connor: Yeah, we're on the same page.
[gun away]
Ashdown: Good. Good. So soldier, what the hell are you doing here?
Connor: What did we find down there?
etc

The deleted scene of topless Blair Williams is slightly longer (then my uploaded scene) with her walking to the spot she undresses after she left her gun on another place (= 6 secs). I'm still wondering why she even turns to Marcus if she doesn't want him to see her boobs. Then there's 2 more secs or Marcus closing a door of a car before going back to theatrial cut. Still badly edited with the rain if you ask me.

Marcus pushing a screwdriver through a guy's shoulder, pinning him down on some wood.
Later the guy pulls out the screwdriver while screaming in pain. He attacks Marcus, but Marcus catches his hand. Then a guy behind Marcus un***** a shotgun (marcus hears the click and realizes what's happening behind him while holding the screwdriver guy). He turns around with the screwdriver guy in front of him while the shotgun guy shoots, shielding himself against the bullet with the screwdriver guy.

More (ridiculous) talk between Blair and Marcus during the campfire scene before the body heat question.
Blair Williams: Thinking about your past?
Marcus: ...
Blair Williams: You know what I've learned, Marcus? Is you can focus on what is lost or you can fight for what is left.
Marcus: ...
[start body heat nonsense]

When Kyle arrives at the Skynet, I think there's an extra 1 second shot of the guy climbing the fence. You see him get shots from behind. Then a quick shot from the front of some bullets hitting the guy. THIS WAS NOT IN THE THEATRICAL CUT!

John Connor vs. Marcus extra dialogue
John: Where were you manufactured?
Marcus: I was born August 22, 1975.
Marcus: I know you. etc

More John Connor radio message (worthless addition if you ask me, I mean what has Sarah to do with acting like machines?):
John Connor: If we attack tonight, our humanity is lost. I once knew a woman who told people to fear the future, that the end was coming, that all would be lost. Nobody wanted to hear her truths. Society locked her away. That woman was Sarah Connor, my mother. Now we know that what she predicted has all come to pass. Command wants us to fight like machines. etc.

Extra end credits. After the normal credits, there appears another short credits list for the director's cut with 5 names (including 1 for a film editor)

The director's cut doesn't add anything in my opinion from I have seen. It doesn't improve the movie. McG better includes all deleted scenes on the DVD.

Marcus' birthdate was in the theatrical. I'm pretty sure I remember that whole bit about Sarah Connor during the humanity speech being in the theatrical as well.
