The Film Stage

The film will debut in 2018, which is fairly in line with Malick’s standards — and even a bit early compared to some of his production timetables.

His drama depicts the life of Austria’s Franz Jägerstätter (August Diehl), a conscientious objector during World War II who was put to death at the age of 36 for undermining military actions. Also starring Valerie Pachner and Ulrich Matthes, there’s been rumors that Bruno Ganz, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Jürgen Prochnow are part of the ensemble, but those have yet to be confirmed.

Hmm, Malick's been in self parody mode ever since Tree of Life so maybe a concrete story will help.

Still, you never know.

Btw, he's got another movie he filmed back in 2011, along with Knight of Cups, that's still unfinished.

I think that one you're talking about is called "Weightless", which is due out next year.

My namesake is a crazy dude. Crazy smart.
