MAKE IT HAPPEN MARVEL

GUILLERMO DEL TORO IS FINE TOO

or Gaspar Noe.

I don't know who would be good to direct this movie BUT, Jim Cavizel would be perfect for Dr. Strange.

I'm still up for Neil Gaiman's involvement as Del Toro suggested. And JMS, as he co-wrote Thor and retold Strange's origin.

As of last year, del Toro was a front runner for the director's chair. Hopefully he'll get the gig.

Hell, I want him to make every movie he's attached to. At the Mountains of Madness, Hellboy III, Dr. Strange, Deadman, all of his small personal Spanish language films that he's mentioned.

Outside of fanboys do people still even care about Rodriguez?

You guys talking about Robert Rodriguez? If so, what's wrong with him?
And haven't you been a member since before 2007?

He's just not as good as he used to be. He can still shoot a movie and have it look good, but his writing has gotten progressively worse and he has an over reliance on bad CGI. Just my opinion.

I've been a member for as long as it says I've been a member here.

also he has a tendency of signing onto like 7 movies and never making any of them. that's what i mean by "rodriguez syndrome" in reference to del toro.

I rather think Gilliam should do a DC comics superhero. But I don't imagine Warner bros will ever allow him to do one, but his take on Wonder Woman or Aquaman, free to shape the character, the story and the environment as he like, would have been unbelievable. To see his versions of one of them would feel like taking an overdose.

But I guess a "Terry Gilliam's Green Arrow" has bigger chances to ever be made, as it is a much cheaper film.

I wouldn't oversell JMS' involvement in Thor, though. His involvement in the script was a re-write of Protosevich draft based in ancient times, but WGA rules dictate that the earlier drafts get "story" credit. Also, the stuff with Mjolnir in the crater was based on JMS' comics.

The vast majority of stuff in the movie came from Zack Stentz, Ashley Miller & Don Payne adapting the Jack Kirby and Walt Simonson comic runs.

As for Del Toro and Gaiman, it's unfortunate but I don't think either of them are working towards dealing with Marvel Studios at the moment. Del Toro plans to make Pacific Rim, followed by At the Mountains of Madness. Gaiman is trying to get a directing career off the ground and there's no way Marvel is going to hand him a $150 million feature as his start.

Gaiman wants to get into directing? Awesome.

Unfortunately, that could be said for the last 10 years. Del Toro was giving him some on set experience while making Hellboy 2 and New Line was developing the live-action Death feature for Gaiman to write/direct. None of that went anywhere and I'm pretty sure the contacts both had for these projects are now over.

You know, since writing that post, I read an interview with Tom Breevort stating Gaiman was originally going to write Thor, and JMS carried over a lot of his ideas, which all makes sense because I've loved Thor's middle America setting for the past few years because of how Gaimanesque it was.

Anyway, my point still stands that Strange can benefit from a screenwriter familiar with the character.
