EXCL: Fueling Up for Another Massacre

Source: Ryan Rotten
May 1, 2007

It's still too early to say this is a "go" project, but Shock has learned Platinum Dunes and New Line are seriously flirting with a third Texas Chainsaw Massacre film.

Details are slim, however, we've discovered that in spite of reports last fall (during the release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) that there were no plans for another chapter, the blood tides have turned in favor of a third film in the new series which kicked off to a profitable start in 2003.

After doing some digging, we've heard a few puzzle pieces need to fall into place before the film is official and story pitches can be taken. Keep your eye peeled to Shock for more and remember where you heard the news first!

I liked the prequel, but I hope this will be a sequel to the remake

i liked the remake, prequel was okay (not as good)...if they can come up with a good story then i'll rent it on dvd, hehe

I just hope they come up with a much better story, The prequel seemed just like the remake.

Only more intense and minus the cop outs.
The remake was a good Hollywood slasher but not a very good TCM movie, the prequel didn't pull punches and came closer to the feeling I should get from a TCM movie.

That's how I felt. I hate the remake deciding to turn Jessica Biel into a ****ing Rambo and making TCM an action movie, plus it was far too tamed for TCM.

Shoot, I thought this was an appreciation thread for the highly underrated Viggo Mortensen classic: Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.

But if this isn't set in the 80's then why bother with this on. Come on, New Line, move Leatherface into the next decade and have him have a new family.

I wonder what Viggo thinks of Leatherface. Surely he sees it as a blackspot on his career.

Doubt it, he's very humble and tends to favor smaller films let him try something different.
If he were in TCM: The Next Generation, THAT would be a blackspot.

But Leatherface was too bad to be proud of. Granted, I'm sure McConouhey (spelling?) and Zellwegger (spelling again?) feel a whole lot worse about Next Generation, but Leatherface was still really, really bad.

Leatherface was a decent sequel, the only one that was flat out horrible was TNG.
Typically people that look back on a film as blackspot in their careers do so because they're a big star and they think it's beneath them, I doubt Viggo sees it that way since he doesn't really give a **** about being a big star.
