Press Release

”“No More Mutants”

Marvel’s impending X-event, X-Men: Endangered Species, is a series of seventeen eight-page back-up stories, featuring many of Marvel’s A-list talent, including: Mike Carey, Scot Eaton, Mike Perkins, Christopher Yost, Christos Gage, and fresh off his historic run on Ultimate Spider-Man, Mark Bagley. Running through X-Men, New X-Men, Uncanny X-Men and X-Factor, this powerful tale will set the stage for a shocking new status quo.

With three simple words, the entire mutant race was decimated, reduced to a mere fraction of its former size. Now Beast, with a team of unlikely allies, must race against the clock to prevent their own extinction.

Leading into this fall’s x-citing X-Men event The Messiah Complex, X-Men Endangered Species will forever change the face of the Mutant race and the status quo of the Marvel Universe. It all begins in June with X-Men #200 and continues through this summer. Don’t miss a chapter, because if Beast fails…so does the entire mutant race!

What'd everyone think of the one shot? I thought it was an interesting start. Really enjoyed the interactions between characters from different books.

Store gets the stuff one day late, sadly enough.

From what I've heard, I'm still not quite sure what to make of Cyke's, hum, outburst. Oh, and a certain villain pointing fingers and calling Chuck a bad guy. The hell?

^Mine'll probably be sold out tommorow, so I'm about the same way here. Hope it's worth the read though.

They usually keep copies for me. The advantages of a small market, eh. :woot:

Probably not, but what the hell, I'll buy every full issue dealing with the crossover. And NO, I'm not buying every book just for those f****n Endangered Species bits. :whatever:

:wow: Ooh, I didn't think of that before, mabe I should try it before it's too late. I sort of have a huge fit when I get issues late :csad:

This'll be my first time dealing with a event like this. I wasn't even into comics back with House Of M.

Oh yeah, will it be a mixture of different teams into one book? For example: Will X-factor be in X-men, or in Uncanny? If it's a dumb question (which I'm a bit known for), then excuse it :woot:

Well I work in a comic book store and I got my copy of the one shot. It was a pretty good issue.

Anyone think that Sebastian Shaw and the rest of the Hellfire Club will have a big part? Or was it just more of a cameo to remind everyone they are still around

CAN I GET MORE INFO ON THE MESSIAH COMPLEX CROSSOVER PLEASE, I think I missed out on when the Messiah Complex info was given.

Somewhere out there, Sebs' soul is dying. :D

Mine is blossoming~~~

Anyone knows that whether or not they will put the whole scattered issues into one book, I dont like buying single issues, they are not good for collecting.

About damn time, really. Not the part Sebs' soul, btw.

Seriously, is there any other long-term team leader in the MU that got shafted worse than Cyke?

TPB would rock, actually.

Am not that big on single issues either, eh. Got the TPB for AXM 1-18 and only bought the 18-21 single issues for the variant covers...

I though is was a tad pointless. Sure, it laid down some groundwork but it felt like a lot of filler.

Been calling it for months it sure as hell wouldn't rock our socks off.

And yet I'll buy the thing tomorrow. *sigh*

I'm still baffled as to what the big deal is. The X-Men are all acting like it's some horrible atrocity that there may be no more mutants... Which (as I've said before) contradicts the whole moral standpoint they've been arguing for all along.

Think about. The X-Men say mutants are just people with powers. They're not a seperate race, they're not "freaks." They're just people with gifts/curses. Now that there may be no more mutants everyone's freaking out, because the mutant "race" is dying. That doesn't add up to me...

Seconded.

Sure, I guess why it would be such a deal for the bad guys, but shouldn't the good guys be going "oh well, we had good run" rather than moan about their RACE being extinct?

Especially considering how, since they started popping up, mutants have caused more death and destruction than anything else... I mean, we never actually see how mutants are supposed to be helping the human race advance. They're too busy killing each other.
