The 20 most unhealthy foods for 2009

I love those Eat This not That books. But I love my Vitamin Waters and my Mike N Ikes.

I was amazed at some of those dishes. We do not really have the equivalent this side of the Atlantic outside of certain fastfoods like McDonalds.

We don't have any of those places around here but I can feel my arteries already clogging just by reading some of those details. ugh

They need to F@ge Greek Yogurt to the list of unhealthiest health foods. It tastes really good, but I have never seen a product with so much saturated fat. 8oz of the F@ge Total Classic has 90% of your saturated fat for the day. The fruit variates have about half that amount of saturated fat. Granted it has no added sugar, which regular yogurt is laden with, but which is worse?

(I had to use the @ for a because it was censoring f-a-g-e)

They have two different low fat alternatives and a fat free alternative for the plain. It is actually recommended as one of the healthiest.

You know this liberty stuff is all good and dandy but isn't it all detrimental to society.

I mean if the younger generation is going to be obese, who is going to look after us and them, the workforce is going to be squeezed and the healthcare system is going to be pushed to the limit.

Why can't the goverment intervene and say 'portions can't contain no more than 'yay' calories and must come with a healthy side.

or better yet, why not supertax fast food. It's normally bought because it's cheap and convinient. If healthy food was cheap, people would buy that instead since they couldn't afford the supertaxed fast food (like 30 dollars for a hamburger).

I don't know why any society would put the health of their citizens in jeapordy over a sense of liberty and profit chasing convinience nonsense.

Or people could just make their own choices and stop eating at McDonalds if indeed that is their choice. If somebody is getting bigger and bigger and still is ordering "#4's" at Mcdonalds it is because they want to.

It is a sad state of affairs when you can go have 3 Big Macs and still be a better replacement for some of these foods:o

Sorry but taxing food is the dumbest thing I have ever heard:o

Tell me about it :shock
Most of the food in Britain sucks but when it comes to fast food you guys in the America have taken how much you crap you can stuff in one type of food to an artform.

There are people around the world who eat dog, rat, insects, ect but some of that stuff looks more appetizing than that processed junk food thats bright greet with food dye and all sorts of chemical crap.

The thing is the people with the lowest incomes are those who tend to shop at the unhealthiest places because they are cheap and filling. Eating healthy can be expensive.

Two big macs for two dollars vs. grilled chicken w/ a garden salad that costs upwards of 10 bucks.

Now tell me who's going to purchase the healthier alternative on a shoestring budget.

LOL! I like how everything on the list is basically fast food and chain restaurants. America is a buncha fatties. Learn how to cook for yourselves.

Do you live on the moon:huh:

It's called CAN-A-DA....I have heard of these places through commercials but we don't have any of those places anywhere where I live

Replace Baskin Robbins with Dairy Queen and that would be our equivalent.

You can buy healthy food on a "shoestring budget". You can actually buy a weeks worth of lunch at the market to make at your house and bring with you for $10 per week. So the alternative shouldn't be what should I get at McDonalds, it's don't go to McDonalds.

Eating healthy isn't all that expensive if you're buying your own ingredients and cooking for yourself at home.

Or catching and killing the animals yourself.

yeah but a coronary heart attack is the most common way to go and can be caused by having an unhealthy diet.

how is this any worst than someone smoking. a packet costs like 8 cents to make and most of what's on top is tax (which in the uk goes on funding government services).

smoking is an unecessary luxury which has direct links to poor health. Fast food falls under the same category.

I rarely eat fried foods. I think fries and the occasional burger (non fast food) are my only indulgences.

Cooking for one is expensive because most things are portioned for 2 or more people and those things portioned for one are nearly as expensive as the prior. So you end up either wasting food, eating more than you should, and/or having to eat those leftovers for the next few days...and I hate leftovers that aren't Thanksgiving leftover.
