The 20 most unhealthy foods for 2009

Well this is like saying dying 16 years prematurely is better than dying 20 years prematurely. I've gained four years.

most still aren't aware of what is actually going into what they eat across the whole board. Sure somethings may stand out as being worse but you don't know how much worse. I'm fairly sure if you informed anyone that a shake contained a day and a half's worth of fat, they would less likely to consume it.

same way if you told someone a litre of orange juice had your full day's worth of sugar and is just as bad for your teeth as drinking coke (bar carbonation effect) or still fanta, they would be more cautious about how they drank it under the guise of health

Mm... I do see your point. However while a full liter of OJ might have as much sugar and be as bad for your teeth it doesn't make said liter of OJ bad or even as bad as coke for instance.

Also I think most people know that the food they eat is bad for them, but they don't care.

I've also had the Ultimate Cheeseburger from 'Jack in the Box'

I wish we had one of those around here.

I think everyone is entitled to go all out and have something unhealthy sometimes. I don't think you should live your whole life worrying about calories and such. Sometimes, you deserve a treat.

It's when you are eating burgers or pizzas or crap like that every single day you should start worrying.

That is a good outlook. Being healthy is a combination of things. It's a good idea to have the bulk of one's diet be healthy but we have come to a point of absurdity when mentioning fast food/deserts/candy etc. There are people who think that health can only come from complete abstinence from those things. Not only would that make life intolerable ( can you imagine Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie or Valentine's Day w/o chocolate?:csad:) but it's also short-sighted. There are many elements to good health and a balanced diet is only one of them.

Agreed. Even I enjoy a piece of dark chocolate or a glass of wine here and there as well as a thoroughly unhealthy cheat meal every week or two. Consistency does count with diet and exercise, but never, ever giving yourself a brief respite to enjoy some of the less healthy yet incredibly delicious things out there is a bit extreme. It's when people do it frequently (or even constantly) that it's really a problem.

Yeah, that old adage that if you never give yourself junk food, it causes you to overeat later on down the line is true.

I could not have said it any better.

Mmmm...in my case it's really more of a case of just breaking the boredom of eating so healthy all the time. It really doesn't cause me to overeat. Although, my idea of a cheat meal is probably still 90% more healthy that what most people eat on a day to day basis, so it's a matter of perspective.

I can hear your arteries congealing right now.

I'm actually just about to eat a chicken madras. That's about, errr, I would say 1500-2000 calories in one meal.

But **** it, I LOVE curry! :D

I had the Chedder Bacon Gordita yesterday. Too bad the combo only came with one Gordita, one Taco, and a drink...

Crap..and I love those Blooming Onion things too. Well, we all die some day. I'd rather it be death by Blooming Onion.....or sushi. I would marry Sushi because I love it so much.

well you learn something everyday...

I always thought sushi was good for you because of the fresh cuts of fish and the low fat/high protein and high levels of omega three content.

I believe it is good for you, and I eat it whenever I can since we have a place that delivers Sushi, but you have to be careful what Sushi you eat and how much. I usually order those types with shrimp or crab in them and the Veggie Sushis, I especially love the avocado Sushi. You know, all this talk of Sushi is starting to make me hungry for it. :o
