The 2010 Golden Globes - January 17th!

whats funny is that because Cameron won people will hate him . which doesnt make sense .
you should be angry at the GG and oscar people for giving awards to the wrong people not the the people who get them. but hey............. its the internet right? why would someone use logic.

Kathryn Bigelow should won............. fact . but why is it Cameron's fault now? please.

RDJ's speech was fantastic. can he please host the oscars ?

No one takes the Golden Globes seriously. Not even the people winning the awards respect them, since it is a well known fact that the awards are bought and paid for by the studios. It is a shameless stab for ratings (and gifts from the studios). The only people who believe that the Golden Globes carry any respect at all are the rabid fans of the winners.

Yeah, even though Cameron won Best Director at Golden Globe, it doesn't mean Bigelow won't win hers at the Oscar. The award season has just begun.

I think the Globes are the most blatant example of the "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" world of Hollywood next to the Oscars

well to be fair, the Oscars are more about Hollywood kissing its own ass, as opposed to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association kissing Hollywoods ass with the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes finished second last night in the ratings.

And thus ends NBC's Sunday Night ratings dominance for another 9 months.

they'll probably consider it a success since second place is better than fourth...

I got a feeling the Best Director and Best Picture award are going to be split between Bigelow and Cameron. Either Avatar wins BP and Bigelow gets BD or vice versa.

I agree. I just hope the Academy has the good sense to give best director Bigelow and best film to Up in the Air as they are the ones that deserve it.

I agree on Best Director for Bigelow but best film for Up In The Air?

I'd rather Inglorious Basterds, The Hurt Locker, or even Avatar get it.

Up In The Air is such a self serving piece of work not worthy of best director or best film.

Have you seen it? I thought it was out of this world good.

Yes I have seen it otherwise I wouldn't be saying it doesn't deserve either of the awards.

The soft core existentialism in the movie is alright but the way Reitman directs. Well its the same feeling I got when I watched Juno minus the made up slang.

Out of the three movie's Reitmans has directed Thank You For Smoking has been the most enjoyable.

Up In The Air came across as pretentiously preachy, for me at least.

The Hurt Locker & Inglorious Basterds are much, much better films even Avatar for all its simplicity was better IMO.

Well, I obviously disagree. As for Basterds, I will say its Tarantino's best.

if anyone associated with Inglorious Basterds should get anything...Christoph Waltz should be first to get a statue

Thanks to all the people who answered my question in regards to Christina Hendricks. That women is luscious. :wow:

Christina Hendricks looks like a ridiculously hot cartoon character. I do believe that she is the hottest woman in showbiz today...sorry Megan Fox fans.

Hendricks is smoking! As for Megan Fox, I do find her attractive but not hot. She has little to no curves, a stick just doesn't get me going.

they dont have it. its so obvious that she should get it.

so what if Cameron is better then her? give her an award and tell her that she is good at what she does. plain and simple. Cameron already has 11 oscars and the two biggest movies.

Waltz is a lock...like Heath last year was.

He's won 32 critics awards including a Golden Globe and Cannes' best actor.

The screenplay is a near lock to win too.

I agree. Don't get mad at Cameron because he won. Even Cameron himself is surprised he won. He knows Bigelow was robbed, and I honestly believe that James Cameron doesn't see Avatar as a best picture winning film.

On a not-so-completely separate not, I think Avatar is just the beginning of something much bigger for James Cameron for the Avatar series.
