The next debate of the 2012 election season will take place on September 12th in Tampa, Florida on CNN. This debate will be sponsored by various Tea Party groups and CNN. Will you be watching?

The CNN/Tea Party Debate

(In keeping with the tradition of the 2008 election season...all debates, primaries, and caucuses will have their own threads to ensure that the political forum continues to run smoothly.)

Discuss. :yay:

I normally watch all major presidential debates, even if its later online. Other than Paul I don't like any of them though.

I still think the "tea party" is a top down organization, a political tool, made to look like a grassroots one. The money seems to show that as well.

Between watching this or Hell's Kitchen, I'm going with Hell's Kitchen. Sorry, but I loves me some Gordon Ramsay. Keep me updated this time around guys :)

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will be one of Governor Rick Perry's guests at tonight's debate.

I think things are going to be crazy tonight for some reason.

Michele Bachmann's numbers have plummeted since Perry joined the race. I wouldn't be surprised to see her try more desperately than ever to remain relevent.

I'm expecting that as well. That was probably Mitt Romney's strategy too since he saw how effective Bachmann was in annihilating Pawlenty out of the race.

The biggest problem though is that as she was going after Pawlenty, good ol' Z-Paw sorta left her mortally wounded in the process. While Perry's entry in the race has effectively ended her chances of getting the nomination, she was hurt badly by Pawenty's attacks on her ineffectual record. I don't think she could ever recover from Z-Paw's attacks. Maybe Romney is hoping the same in that Bachmann will give Perry some attacks that he can't recover from.

Perry definitely has a lot of problems. He hasn't really been hit on them too hard yet.

Romney is doing an effective job in going after Perry on Social Security. And he was rather effective in deflecting off Perry's attacks on his economic record.

I think Perry is already backtracking a bit on his social security comments. He's now saying that it's CURRENTLY a ponzi scheme but he wants to fix it.

So, only two GOP debates into his campaign and he already has to backtrack his comments. Looks like his reputation to have foot in his mouth isn't unfounded.

That CNN intro seemed a little too epic. It's just a Republican debate for crying out loud.

Romney is pounding Perry right now!

EDIT: Point....Romney.

CNN is handling this debate far better than MSNBC and their shameful event last week

Yeah, CNN is giving out some good questions on this one. And doing a good job at putting the candidates on spot.

These morons should stop clapping and let them speak.

Interesting, immediately after answering truthfully about coming home, Huntsman and Perry pretty much agreed with Paul....atleast on Afghanistan

Edit...the hell with this question
