🇺🇸 The 2024 U.S. Presidential Debate Thread

US News
There are so many people there yelling "We love Trump" that she can't concentrate on her debate prep. It's the biggest crowd I've ever seen. Bigger than anything MLK or Hussein Obama ever had.

Why doesn't Trump question if MLK was a true American too?

This doesn't surprise me. Trump is popular this side of the state. So there being idiots like this sounds about right

Yeah I think it's a waste of time to look defensive while delulu Don spews a metric ton of BS. Just dismiss him outright at the debate as delulu, con artist, convict Don. The reason the gish gallop is effective is because there isn't the time in a limited debate for the other party to answer everything.

Look positive, not defensive
Shake the shiny keys for the audience watching don't chase somebody else's keys

Whenever you hear him accuse the Democratic Party of doing or being something, just replace the words “Kamala“, “she“ and “her“ with “Donald“, “he“ and “him“ and you’ll be right pretty much all of the time.

His projections are always rooted in his own insecurities reflected right back at him to his own face, so he tries to deflect by putting it on someone else. The problem is that now the accusations never fit because he never adjusts them accordingly for his opponents and he just lazily says what comes to mind or what he’s said about someone else before, so they always fall flat. Another sign of dementia very obviously fueling his very rapid cognitive decline.

If she can stay in “Same old playbook” mode like she did for the CNN interview, which I am very confident she can, by keeping her cool, brushing off any remarks or negativity towards her from Trump and remaining positive, while occasionally going full prosecutor mode, she is going to be absolutely fine and Trump won’t stand a chance.

Guess I'm watching on Hulu, because Disney and DirectTV are fighting.

Yeah.....I got the 3 week free trial for YouTube TV.....didn't want to miss Monday Night Football either. :funny: My son just started working for Spectrum so we're going to switch to that and save a few bucks.

If I'm Harris and Trump starts going on about Joe Biden, I think I'd go with the "Look......you're not running against Joe Biden, you're running against me, but at least my president didn't try to get me killed."

I would say she would be better off sticking to what she needs to say and barely give Trump the time of day during the entire debate, unless she absolutely needs to put him in his place, so that when he gets super defensive and starts going off and trailing off into nonsense, she ends up coming out of the debate looking better.

The more defensive she gets, the more runway she gives him and the less in control she looks. The less she gives him, the smaller and less important and more pathetic he looks. The only way to starve a fire and make it go out is to not give it anything.

Maybe....the thing is that he's gonna try to tie her to decisions Biden made that aren't popular. The Afghanistan situation is a prime example. I think she needs to tell him to stick to the issues and stop whining.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I definitely think she should call him out and correct him when necessary. I just don’t want her to get super defensive about certain things and be lured into going off topic. Biden, as much as I liked him, got goaded into that in both of his debates, and he definitely suffered for it, especially the most recent one.

As long as she doesn’t take the bait and takes charge of the debate, which I’m sure she will have no problem doing with her history as a prosecutor, she’s good.

Or whatever carries ABC News, which is a free channel.

Yeah, the ABC affiliate, which is part of the fight according to my blank screen. Disney picking a fight with a cable carrier causes more channels for me to go blank than many others.
