This is probably the best scenario. A clear win and baiting Trump to meltdown. If the same happened again it probably wouldn’t move the needle too much but there’s the risk that the second debate might not go quite as well as the first and allow those who had just about decided to not vote for Trump to be able to hold their nose and do it.

I tend to agree. While it could be helpful to an extent, there's a bigger downside to a debate #2. I think I continue to bait him and ridicule him, but prefer they're one and done. She won, he looked like a nut, and there's no reason to climb back into that ring.

Its so insane that the Right cant even admit the smallest loss and instead scream conspiracy etc.
Like, instead of using the lost debate as a point to tweak the way they do things, they accuse everyone on earth to have done something.

Which shows again that Trump, who he is, what he says etc is exactly what the right is.
Because they see no fault in Trump because he is exactly what the Right wants to be.

That debate was pretty painful. I liked Harris's defense of abortion rights, that no just letting states decide isn't what the people who get forced want, otherwise they both seemed very disingenuous aside from genuinely despising the other. Harris really didn't make case for why and how her term would be better than the current (as if supporting small businesses or home ownership were novel ideas) or why tariffs would be disastrous now when they were not disastrous before (to the point that, to his credit, Biden didn't get rid of all of them).
