The 26th James Bond Film

Cavill is my main pick, but after that I'm still erring towards Aidan Turner or maybe Jamie Dornan.

Turner would be great... I want Brosnan style Bond. Serious with a dab of humour - those quips he delivered.

I remember watching him in The World is not enough and thinking 'this man is perfection'.

I would love a Bond movie now with Brosnan - there's apparently a movie in the works with Brosnan as an Ex spy coming out of retirement and it looks like a real bond homage.

Which director would you like to see kick the new era off?

I really want to see a Nolan version of 007. Something cerebral and complex which showcases Bond's intelligence and not just his muscles.

Yeah Nolan is a obvious pick but that'd be my choice. And now that he's more of a free agent, I think we'd get that sooner or later.

Steve McQueen (Widows, Shame, 12 Years a Slave) would be interesting too. Kathryn Bigelow (where has she been) would be interesting as well.

I would really like some one who style doesn't fit Bond to direct. Don't know who I'm thinking of but like a James Gunn. Not him specifically, but someone who will change their style to fit Bond.

I think Gunn might be a bit too americanised. Like, that over the top action is really fun for the suicide squad but maybe not so much for Bond. I mean look at how the kingsman franchise fizzled because it was too over the top

Nolan would be good, the man knows the character and franchise. I could trust he’d do something faithful to spirit of the original material.

Fukunaga expressed interest in returning and even pitched a concept for Bond 26 to EON. I thought No Time to Die was a really strong film and his work was top notch, so I wouldn’t turn him down at all.

I'd like to see Fukunaga come back and have more time to build it from the ground up.

Yeah, considering he came in at the 11th hour to conclude a saga that was already firmly in place he did great. Without having to worry about 4 previous films? Guy could turn in gold.

I'd love to have seen a Paul Greengrass 007 movie too but pretty sure I read an interview with him where he ruled himself out, likening it to supporting your favourite sports team (the Bourne series he did) whilst trying to cheer another. Shame, as I think his talents would work brilliantly for a Bond movie.

Similarly Christopher McQuarrie has been involved in some really brilliant films but his run with Mission Impossible - with Ethan Hunt basically being a pseudo American version of Bond - has kinda ruled him out in all likelihood.

Ah I'm not taking about Gunn specifically I meant someone like Gunn. Someone you wouldn't expect to do a Bond movie because their style seems so different.

With Greengrass I feel like we know what his Bond movie would look like...it'd be like Casino Royale. CR is so influenced by Batman Begins and Bourne already. Maybe a bit grittier but I can't imagine it be much different than CR.
And as you said, McQuarrie is kinda doing his own spy take

Christopher McQuarrie for a Bond to appeal to a larger audience.

Nolan to make a Bond movie no one needs, but ultimately want.

Safe bet, stick with Fukunaga and let him plan an arc over 2/3 movies.

My money, Elba is oo7 (but not Bond) in the reboot - the best of the best and he's like the prime spy. Everyone looks up to him - Younger Bond, Dan Stevens is taken under his wings, and learns off him - Elba sees the raw diamond.

Elba becomes M eventually and Bond eventually oo7.

We see a focus on the oo agents headed by Elba as cocky Bond wants a piece of the action.

We see it through Bonds eyes, his rise, why he wants it and how he gets it.

Wow. I just got the whole collection on blu-ray a couple of months ago too. I could have waited I guess.

Edit: It looks like it’s just in the UK though.

Boo I was so excited. I would love to watch the lot in australia. I think they’re on Stan but I don’t have that at the moment

Recently thought of Poulter. Could be an interesting choice? By the time this films he'd be Connery's age when Dr. No came out.

I was actually watching a YouTube video about who should be the next Bond. They had a good point that it would be good to get someone who hasn’t just played Bond lite in a previous film because we already know what we’re getting

actually one of the names pitched was Josh O’Connor which was really intriguing. He’s handsome but not too conventionally handsome and he’s an incredible actor and the right age for this for when they will roughly start filming

If they don't change the ethnicity. At least place it into the 1960's.
