How do you think they will use the 3D for this film?

Well then the the threads question is answered I suppose
it'll be done amazingly

Since they wanted to make more money.

I hate 3D. Too distracting. Takes away from the film.

People thought Raimi was cheesy, wait until they start shooting web balls at the screen and wait until the lizard jumps at the screen.

I think shooting in 3D will be cool for the action scenes. But since we're not being transported to a different world that scenes where characters are just talking to each other that it might be distracting

But we'll see

I was gonna say the same thing. For the first 5-10 minutes,it's cool. After that, you just wanna watch the film and the 3-D just gets in the way.

Neither will I. It was amazing in Avatar because it immersed you into that world. I don't need to be immersed into NYC. All I need is a great movie.

I think some scenes will lend themselves to 3D, i.e. when spidey is swinging through the city.

I don't understand the problem with 3D if you dont like 3D watch the 2D print.

If they just watch the 2D print then there's nothing to argue about...you really don't know us geeks well at all, do you? :p

They better not phuck this up! 3D movies can be a disaster if your focus is mainly on creating cheesy 3D effects with a horrible script, story, characters and visual effects. I'd be a lot more confident if WETA was doing the visual effects.

Then don't watch it in 3D.
I might not the first time viewing if there's an option at my theater. One thing I've been noticing lately is that alot of 3D films can't be seen in 2D any more in my theater. Films such as My Soul To Take and Jackass 3D. I mean, if there's no other option than to see it in 3D, then obviously I will, but I really hope there is an option.

Yup.

Its not that simple people. Filming in 3D means filming on HD video, sure you can catch the 2D showing instead, but the lush filmic look of the original trilogy will be gone no matter what version you see.

What lush look? I must have missed this during my showing.

I don't wanna play semantics with you. Relatively lush. HD video always has a muted colour palette, unless they use the RED one camera. Do they even have 3D RED one cameras?

My concerns exactly. IF they simply use the 3D to enhance the overall storyline, as opposed to using the story to enhance the 3D, we're good.

But IF they shoot the story to accomodate the 3D... BIG.. MISTAKE!
