I was looking at the I'm Still Here's letterboxd page and the bots are on fire because there are over 200,000 five-star ratings for a movie that is finally getting a semi-wide release tomorrow in the states.

Meanwhile Emilia Perez... lol

Unrelated to the Oscars but I love the ratings chart for The Room because there's basically no middle ground.

It's a one-star movie but a five-star experience.

I know we love Anora but I'm still rooting for Demi to take it. The Substance hit all the right notes for me. Besides that woman has been emoting her ass off since Ghost.

The Academy loves the chance to give the award to a actor in the industry for a long time who finally gets a nomination. See, Jamie Lee Curtis.

Which is why it's even more Hollywood BS that Angela Bassett didn't get it that year after previous noms.

But I digress.

But others, who work behind the scenes to help studios realize their Oscar ambitions, say Gascón may not have been seen as a candidate who needed to be put under the microscope. “She does not meet the requirements of somebody who would normally be vulnerable to posting toxic commentary because she’s part of the LGBTQ+ community,” said a source who is familiar with the Hollywood vetting process. “She doesn’t fit the profile because she, herself, is part of a protected class.”

The Hollywood Reporter previously reported that the actress has been removed from the film’s Oscar campaign in the U.S. and that she will no longer be coming to Los Angeles this week for awards activities. Tensions are said to be high between Gascón and Netflix, which owns Emilia Pérez’s distribution rights in the United States, Canada and the UK.

She is the clear best actress in the group. I think Neon left her down in a sense or for whatever reason it just didn’t hit properly. I will be happy with Demi winning, but still kinda eh.
Needless to say, I think Demi is taking it but I'm firmly planted in the "Mikey Madison should win" camp.

Demi was just on the Marc Maron pod and she was incredible on it. I feel like since a lot of Oscar voters listen to his pod, her appearance kinda got her the win. The Neon team just need Mikey Madison to get on the pod.

Not saying there's no bot activity going on here (lol), but Brazil has a population of 216 million people. A lot of people are very passionate about this movie, for a multitude of reasons.

I totally agree but also if you go through each user, a lot of them created a letterboxd account just to give the movie 5 stars and there's nothing else on there.

Timmy is just doing sidequests now.
