Still as cringy as ever. And sorry but I just can't buy Jason Mendoza as a Sith lord. And I still can't believe its exactly who we thought it was. What a mystery.

Do the writers even realize how deep in the lore they are here? Timeline wise this guy should be Darth Plagueis' master. And they still have to explain why the Sith haven't been seen in 1000 years. They better have some damn good explanations and I hope its not Jedi coverups.

Darth Tenebrous isn't technically canon anymore, so, really, who ****ing cares. We are still 50 years out from Palpatine even being borne. I can appreciate people enjoying Stover's books. But lets be honest here, the story of Plaguis he created was... not the greatest. Hell the whole idea that Sidious didn't kill him till the END of TPM is just stupid. Some things are better off left in Legends.

Anyway, we may not be actually seeing a Sith either. He says he has no name, but the Jedi would call him Sith. Which yeah, Jedi could jump the gun with random dark siders. He also seems to be looking a tad like a newer character from canon, who is not Sith.

I need to know why the lightsaber fighting is so much better here then Ahsoka. It's like worlds apart. And that's the crew that's been doing this for a while.

Honestly, I think a lot of the restrictions he had to work around with his early days in Star Wars animation has sort of trained his brain in bad habits for fight choreography.

Loved this episode. Nothing quite like Sith wrecking Jedi with no mercy.

Sith is a religion, a set of beliefs a force user lives by known as the Sith Code. The Rule of Two is one of the tenants of the Sith Code.

As for who trained him, probably that era's Dark Lord of the Sith. The current Sith Master from Darth Bane's Rule of Two lineage.

Same as how Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) trained Darth Maul, Darth Tyrannus, and then Vader.

Exactly. In screenplays words matter. He didn’t really identify himself as Sith, rather it’s what Jedi would call him. Now some could say the writers slipped up, but I don’t believe they did. His reaction to the term was noticeably noncommittal. He’s likely as he said he is - a lone wolf rather than tied to any particular ideology.

He has a lightsaber and knows the force, that in new canon doesn’t necessarily mean Sith. That could also describe a certain member of the Open Hand.

While the Qimir reveal was predictable this was the strongest episode so far. Excellent choreography too.

Killing Yord and Jecki is the kind of risk I haven't seen Star Wars take in quite a while. We already lost Aniseya, Tobrin, Kelnacca, and Indara too. If Sol goes the way of Qui-Gon Jinn... Stenberg and Jacinto gave solid performances here, but I'm honestly not sure they can carry this show alone.

It's going to be very interesting to see how the last few episodes play out.

Cortosis was an old alloy that briefly short circuited lightsabers in the old EU, created by Michael Stackpole in I, Jedi. Its shown up a few times in new canon books and comics, though.

Forgot to mention that stab. That was sick and probably the most badass thing I’ve ever seen a SW villain do. I yelled, “OH, ****!” when I saw that.

Seriously. Everyone on Ahsoka looked as stiff as Sir Alec Guinness wielding a lightsaber. What the hell was going on there?

Speaking of which, it was funny that Ashoka seemed like she was a better fighter in the flashbacks when she was a kid than as an adult.

The fight scenes in this episode were some of the best I've ever seen in Star Wars. Everything from the lightsaber dueling, hand-to-hand combat & display of force powers was superb! And made up for the shortcomings in terms of story & wooden acting from Amandla Stenberg so far.

Lee Jung-jae continues to steal the show.

I’m assuming Qimir is the founding member or descendant of the Knights of Ren. But him saying he needs an acolyte not an apprentice has me wondering whether he is a Sith. Headland did say she wanted to show the Sith’s perspective so I assume he is.

I mean, in TPM. only council level Jedi seem to talk about it. While Qui gon wasn't on the council, Obi-wan did say he could have been. So, I guess, before the confirmation on their return, it is just one big of historical data that masters may need to know.

His own words, which heavily imply he's not actually a Sith but something the Jedi simply consider one, make it clear the Jedi should know what a Sith is.



I think we might be entering the land of dark siders, who aren't Sith but more overtly classic Jedi, unlike the Danthomir witches. Classic, "I'm in the right because the Jedi are bad" to justify his actions. Setting up the Jedi as those that oppose him because of their dogmatic nature when it comes to the force. The question is, where did he learn his skills. A lost Jedi padawan? A lost Sith apprentice? Somewhere else?

Hoping this is good, unlike whatever the hell the orange idiots are from Ahsoka.

Is it really a risk? Stenberg hasn't been great, but at least they've had material. The others were just there to die. No writing and little acting, outside of broad stroke caricature. To the point that I wouldn't know any of the characters you listed by name outside of Yord and that's because of his vocal fanbase.

Outside of the flashback, the only proper acting has come from Squid Games and Jason.

He could theoretically follow the Sith's teachings, but be outside the 2. Like Ventress in TCW.

I know hes not canon thats why I said this guy has to be Plagueis master just from looking at the dates. Or maybe his masters master. Thats kind of a big deal.

But this still makes TPM make absolutely no sense. People are getting hung up over Ki Adi but it wasn't just him. The ENTIRE Jedi Council didn't think the Sith could exist anymore. You would think one of them would say "well actually there was this guy 100 years ago who said he was LIKE a Sith and was insanely powerful with the dark side, had a red lightsaber and mowed down half a dozen Jedi, AND he was looking for an apprentice. So maybe its not such a crazy idea that there could still be Sith followers out there."

Granted there is still time for an explanation but like I said it better be a damn good one.

BTW I'd like put on record that my theory is the green Jedi lady is somehow involved.

This story is paced in such an odd way that this felt like a penultimate episode, but there's still three to go. Next week we'll probably get the space combat/chase sequence, and the week after that, Mae's flashback episode. Not so bad this week, but it would've hit so much harder if these characters were better written and had more screentime. That wouldn't be such an impossibility if these episodes weren't 30 minutes long. Incredible action! I love how this show is always mixing up what we know about force-powered combat, and it's always fresh and exciting. A little bit brutal too.

Qimir specifically said the Jedi would call him a sith, not that he is a sith. I love the idea of him being involved with the Knights of Ren. It's a strength of the show that it's relatively self-contained, but Knights of Ren always felt like one of those mysterious elements from the sequels that I would've wanted to learn a little bit more about.

I feel like next week is another flashback, since episode 3 was one and they’re mirroring the season and we have three left.

7/8 with be a proper penultimate and finale, then.
