Ok so I was rewatching some of season 1 this week and it seems like at some point they changed Clarks, Pete's, Lana's and Chloe's ages. They are currently aged 19/20 meaning that when the show began they were 14/15 but that doesn't seem to add up. From Season 2 and 5 we know that Clarks "birthday" is in May meaning that as Season 1 starts he is 14, but he is driving, now it may be different in the US but over here you have to be 17 to start driving I imagine it is the seem, later Chloe is driving aged only 15.

It also rasies the question about Lex, he is clearly a bit north of 20 so why is he hanging out with a bunch of teenagers.

As for Lana she is going out with Whitney who is graduating and he also enlisted so that makes him 18, I know Whitney's truck wasn't a rockin isn't that ilegal anyway, also Lex finds her attractive in the second epsiode and why would he go into business with a 14/15 year old girl.

Clark also says that he met Chloe in the 8th grade and even know my knowlege of grades in America is based entirely on Lias aged 8 in the second grade and Bart aged 10 in the forth grade, wouldn't they have to be in the 8th grade in Season 1.

So my question is, did Millar and Gough change their ages, I'm off base or were they just kinda of inconsisted in the first season?

i think they should be 18/19 this season...but yeah, lots of inconsistencies, but o well, it'd be weird if they had to have their parents drop them off wherever they needed to go...guess it was easier to pretend that they could drive

I recall Hulk posting in a thread the other day, where he said that the legal driving age in Kansas was 15, and that you could drive on a farm at 14.

I dont think the six month age discrepancy is a big deal in terms of them driving on the show.

OK but what above the other stuff, like Lana/Whitney and Lex's relationship with all of them. Plus Emily was the same age as Chloe and the year on her tombstone is 1986 but on Chloe's it was 1987.

This only really came to my attention because when I started watching the show in Season 1 it seemed clear that they were older than me but now Clark I know Clark is actually a few months younger.

the worst was whitney, when they showed him in the army he was like leading a unit or something, but he was only like 16

No Whitney was 18, Lana said about him graduating, the issue with his age would be his relationship with Lana

well its still bad that he was leading a unit or w/e it was

I didnt have a problem with Lana and Whitney. I mean its a small town they dont exactly conform to the usual High School Protocols in that boy must only date girl who is in my grade level.

Well couldnt Chloe's birthday be early in the year. Emily was the same age as Lana, so Chloe's only going to be a few months younger.

Clark turned 19 in May.

Lana's birthday has been seen to be in the first quarter of the season, so I'm guessing she's about to turn 20.

And Chloe's birthday falls a few months before Clark's making her 19 about to turn 20.

But as I said, I dont think the six month age discrepancies matter that much in the grand scheme of things.

Freshmen in Season One.
Sophomores in Season Two.
Juniors in Season Three.
Seniors in Season Four.
College Freshmen in Season Five.
College Sophomores in Season Six.

Well maybe I am wrong but a 14/15 year old girl dating an 18 year old man is a bit, well disgusting

Not if he was 17 when the show started. He could have turned 18 right before he enlisted, and Lana turned 15 in that first quarter.

Yep, this is the way it is...

and I know, yeah, they don't look like freshman in the first season, but that's tv for ya... it makes everyone look older than their character's age...

as for whitney and lana, who the **** cares? I mean, seriously, there are relationships that are three years apart... and whitney could be young for his grade and lana could be old for her grade... who knows?

Actually, you can join up when you're 17...

It's possible, he was 17 during his whole senior year.

When I was in High School, seniors dated freshmen all the time. Why is that so taboo now?

its not. at least i didnt think it was.

That's my point. What's the big deal about high school senior Whitney dating freshman Lana? Esp. considering Lana was the most popular girl in school and he was the star QB?

Though I do agree with some of the age discrepancies.

The show started when they where in the 9th grade. I was in the 9th grade when the show started. So I was about 15. I graduated the same year they did so they are in their 20's now. You can drive at 15 in the Us with a Permit and if someone over 21 (with a license) is in the car with you.

he wasnt leading a unit, him and a couple of guys in his unit got cutoff from the rest of the unit and he was leading those 3 guys to try to get away.

Senior's in High School typically are 18. Lana turned 18 at the begining of that season.

The real question is WTF was Whitney doing fighting the Vietnam War in 2002?
:D
