BvS The Alfred Pennyworth Casting Thread

I hadn't really given much thought to the casting of a new Alfred til' now, but I gotta say...you guys have made some really GREAT suggestions in this thread... Timothy Dalton, Alan Rickman, Charles Dance or Liam Cunningham would all be excellent picks.

Liam Cunningham is cool and all, but there's an 11 year age difference between him and Affleck.

I'd be totally on board with Hurt or Rickman.

Anyone from the HP films to play old Alfred is old Dumbledore :o

Will we actually get a pencil thin mustache wearing Alfred in live action?

Depends on how close they want Alfred to look from the comics.

And also it would depend on if the actor chosen would suit a tache like that.

He's not English, but he's a great actor, earned some Academy Awards, can bring the gravitas.

Dance is my number one choice.

Looks the part, great voice, sharp wit, and oozes charisma.

Snyder stays close as hell to the looks of the comics, so I really feel that we will get the pencil-stached Alfred.

My top 6...

Mark Gatiss
Michael Palin
Tom Courtenay
Peter Capaldi
Charles Dance
Bill Nighy

I had never thought of Mark Gatiss before but I like it. Possibly a bit too young though. And I like the idea of Capaldi but he will probably be too busy with Doctor Who.

My top 3:
1. Anthony Head
2. Bill Nighy
3. Timothy Dalton

This place is running far too low on Capaldi gifs. :o

Alan Rickman is my personal favorite choice at the moment!

Love him, but he's my least favourite choice.

I :lmao: when I imagine him talking Michael Caine's lines or Gough's!
