The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

So they put the only person in charge who doesn't want to see Keaton as Batman again... :whatever:

Also I can imagine Keaton just leaving on his own now, I wouldn't blame him.

I doubt Pattinson would be willing to play ball on that, Reeves either.* I'd say that's why Affleck has made an unlikely comeback.

Honestly can see Joker 2 being the end of that thread, and Reeves/Pattinson being done. All trailing threads done by 2024.

*only exception to that would be if they handed the entire creative reigns to the new universe to Reeves which I can't see.

Unpopular opinion (and I've said it before a million times): if Reeves was interested, I'd be ok with that idea.

Whoever gets appointed to that role needs to delegate based on the strengths of a given character while being able to shepard the overall picture along. I'm not sure if Reeves is that man, no person that is just creative really is. Someone like Jon Favreau is what they need, as in someone who has the right balance between what works using both Canon and business sense.

I'm not saying I'd like Jon, but someone like that.

What DC needs is a clean break from the DCEU. Merging Batman 86 into the DCEU was a bad idea and merging The Batman or Joker into the DCEU would also be a bad idea.

First they should give the shared universe thing a rest for a bit. Finish what's in the works but don't start any new stuff (unless they're gonna let Snyder make Justice League Part 2 as a final sendoff...I'm not particularly invested in it but it'd be cool of them to let him finish his story....but I doubt that's the route they would take the DCEU in anyway). Let Reeves make his Batman movies without interference. If Keaton is still willing to associate with DC after this mess, you should have him play a retired Bruce in a Batman Beyond movie at some point.

Then after some time has passed they should start a brand new DC cinematic universe with no ties to the DCEU whatsoever. Hire a Feige equivalent (There are surely other people who can do the job just as well, you just need to put in the effort necessary to understand what characteristics make Feige good at his job) and all new actors for everyone, and this time do whatever it is that Marvel does to pick actors, because somehow they manage to do it without hiring complete nutcases.

I wish someone had asked Zaslav about casting yesterday during the conference call.

A cameo in Aquaman 2 isn't a comeback by any means.

Ezra's claims about the kkk and fbi honestly sounds like paranoid schizophrenia. My great aunt says similar things when she isn't medicated. She once thought a community college wanted to kill her for her land.

Was it from Greendale?

From what we know it's a stinger, as was Keaton's cameo before it was nixed. It inevitably suggests he'll make further appearances.
From what I understand, Keaton was supposed to have a cameo in Aquaman 2 because the film was originally coming after The Flash, and we know they wanted to have him as the future Batman of the DCEU after that film. Now that The Flash has been delayed and is coming after Aquaman 2 it would make no sense for him to appear out of the blue, hence why they put Affleck back in his place for that appearance. We already know he's in the beginning of The Flash so it would have to bode well with that.

The question is what are they going to do with Batman at the end of that film moving forward. But the Affleck cameo means nothing more than that.

makes you wonder how important to the plot this Batman scene is to the movie that they would go back and re-shoot with Batfleck Vs just cutting the scene

Except it doesn't. It is a replacement for a scene that wont make sense because of timing nothing more.

Saying Affleck's cameo means nothing is wishful thinking. He was supposed to be done and now he has an extra appearance. If they had wanted to they could have just went without any Batman cameo at all.

We’ll just have to see the movies to really know what’s up.

What wishful thinking he is done after Flash which comes after AQ2. His part of that film is finished and we know how it ends.

The wishful thinking is from the Snyder crowd.

El Mayimbe said on Twitter spaces that Zaslav loves this movie.

I'm pretty sure Batman's cameo in Aquaman is just him offering Arthur some guidance. Like helping him to get through the grieving process of losing a loved one, probably killed by Manta.
This would be a pure plot device thing and so, whether Keaton or Affleck is under the cowl doesn't really matter.
